We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Arielle Carrera a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Arielle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
At the age of 11, I had my sights set on acting. Just like every other kid during that time, I dreamed of being on the Disney Channel and doing the iconic “and you’re watching Disney Channel” intro. One day while listening to the radio, I heard about a chance to win a trip to Florida to perform in front of casting directors and agencies; and take acting classes. I turned to my mom, brimming with excitement. As a performer since the age of 3, I knew that this was the perfect opportunity for me. We went on the trip, and I got the chance to audition. Although I received some offers in the modeling industry, I felt that I was not yet ready for the industry while still in school and focusing on dancing. Several years later, at 14, the idea of modeling crossed my mind, and I felt that I was ready to give it a try. I went to an open call in Chicago, received an offer, and started working with numerous photographers. I even landed gigs with well-known brands such as StockX, Nike, Meijer, and Tangle Teaser to name a few. Modeling has been my passion for almost a decade now, and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. My love for acting began not long after that.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Since I was a young child, I’ve had a natural inclination to be in the spotlight, with a certain twinkle in my eye that captivates audiences. Dancing at just three years old instilled in me the belief that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who share my passion and creative energy has helped me develop the discipline necessary to pursue my goals.
My family has played an integral part in my story, with their work ethic and tireless dedication to their small businesses serving as a constant source of motivation. They have been instrumental in supporting me in my journey, and I couldn’t have done it without them.
Finding a manager in Los Angeles who believed in my talents gave me the confidence I needed to pursue my career as a creator. I express myself through a variety of mediums, including performing on stage, painting, creating content for TikTok and YouTube, editing videos, and being on camera. As a social media creator, I frequently receive questions about coaching and inspiration. I’m now offering one-on-one coaching to my supporters, sharing what I’ve learned through trial and error over the years.
What sets me apart is my one-of-a-kind energy and drive for my passions. I’m most proud of always staying true to myself, no matter what obstacles come my way. I’ve written an acting book for aspiring actors and creatives, which can be found on my website.
There are many incredible things on the horizon for me in the years to come, and I invite you to join me on this journey by following me on all of my social media platforms. Remember to always stay true to yourself and never give up on your dreams.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In 2020, I began my journey of building an online audience by posting dancing videos on TikTok. Eventually, I transitioned to fashion and styling videos before finally finding my true calling in acting. I went all-in on creating acting videos on TikTok, reels on Instagram, and shorts on YouTube. I also share long-form content on YouTube, which I’ve been doing for years.
My advice to anyone looking to build an audience is to find your niche and stick with it. Authenticity is key, so be true to yourself and let your unique personality shine through. Don’t worry about what others think and always prioritize your own happiness. Negative comments and people are unavoidable, but it’s important to remember that there’s enough success in the world for everyone. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s and stay focused on your own goals.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As a creative, the most rewarding experience is bringing an idea to life and inspiring others through my work. The creative mind is always active; even watching TV before bed can spark new ideas that need to be jotted down before they’re forgotten. Those little thoughts can lead to a cascade of new ideas that can be transformed into something tangible. Whenever my supporters express how much my work inspires them or mention the intricate details in my videos that they appreciate, I feel a sense of accomplishment as a content creator. I’ve been passionate about performing since I was young, and being able to share my talent with the world fills my heart with joy.
