We caught up with the brilliant and insightful AlphaMoses a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
AlphaMoses , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.
When it comes to music, over a great deal of the artists represent only themselves in the music they put out. Take my genre Rap for example, only thing most of the artist seem to want to talk about is how much money they’ve made and the countless things the said money have gotten them
There is a strong need and demand to voice other things, other kinds of struggles and situations.
I want to take a different direction with my music, I want to say things that heal, not just build egos. I haven’t done the best job so far but it’s not easy breaking free from a chain reaction.
Real life experiences with deserving lessons need to be woven back into music, and that is what I am on a mission to achieve currently.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’ve always been a lover of music, I wasn’t the most vocal or the most lyrically blessed. Still, I loved it. I loved watching people create and I loved helping people create, moving to America gave me the tools to make that happen.
I started out watching videos on YouTube on how to engineer sounds, then as time went on I started getting better and developing my own sound. My sound has changed so much in the recent years and the lyrics have improved very much if I do say so myself.
Last month, I did one of the biggest shows I’ve ever done with the biggest crowd I’ve ever pushed too, it was spectacular! The crowd engaged with me and I fed off the energy to produce a great show! I could live off that high forever but it wouldn’t really be a high if I wasn’t chasing it again.
Currently I am planning a festival, I’m going for bigger and better.
What binds my fans together is the sense of belonging. We really are people that don’t exactly fit societal norms, so we made our own. We are a Pack! We grow everyday and we won’t stop growing. I have a great deal of love for each and everyone of them, that’s why I’m doubling down on everything I’m doing.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency! Nothing beats consistency, not even talent. Talents gotta work hard and be consistent or it’s gonna be obsolete.
I’ve been consistently dropping songs for the past four years and I send it out through direct messages and inboxes to everyone I know and don’t know. I get praises and criticism, I fix what I can and improve in any area that’s drawn to my attention.
Everything else just takes time. Patience is very underrated in the music business.
I had to learn patience the hard way, not all the songs did good statistically, some went over expectations, but all equally required patience.
It’s almost like planting a tree, it won’t grow the next day after you leave and come back, you have to water it, watch it grow through time and attend to it if it’s needed.
So is music, some songs need the extra push and some do good on their own. You can find those songs easily and figure out what your audience responds to more.
It’s not easy, but it can be done!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Marketing. That’s where I try to put songs in front of new people who’ve never heard of me before or people who have but never came back. They sometimes love to see that you’re still working.
I use paid Facebook ads and Instagram ads to push my songs in front of real people.
I’m experimenting with some other forms of marketing I can’t get into until I’m sure it’s a sure thing.
There’s over 7billion people in the world, I’m certain I can impact some of that number and I’m on a mission to make that happen
