Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrew Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Andrew, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I have worked on so far would be the first time I went on tour with Jon Stork and his phenomenal band. In November of 2021, I was approaching finals for my photography class, but I was unsure of my concept, that is until I watched a documentary of Annie Leibovitz. Immediately, I was inspired, and reached out to Jon Stork’s amazing manager, Shelton Wallace, asking to join their tour just twelve hours before it began. My concept was to document the life of six guys traveling across the United States in a van, life behind the stage, and those candid moments hanging out together. Within hours, I was flying across Texas to join Jon and the guys. I have to admit, I was nervous as this was my first big gig, touring with musicians, but the guys took me under their wing, and we definitely made many memories that weekend. Having Jon, Shelton, and the band support my concept and treat me like an old friend was truly an experience I will appreciate and never forget.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Andrew Jones with Goldn Photography. In 2018, I established my photography business as a high school senior in a small town in East Texas. I am currently an incoming senior at the University of North Texas and serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and beyond. My photography ranges from senior sessions to touring with musicians across the country, and much more. With any client, I enjoy making a visual presentation or board to help navigate their wishes and bring our ideas to life. In addition, I provide photos edited back to the client within a week or less. I believe what sets me apart from other photographers is not only my intense passion, but my appreciation for every single session I book. In today’s economy, many people are struggling unfortunately, and when they book with me, I appreciate their business, making sure they receive quality photos and a great experience from start to finish. I’m very proud of my hard work. Within four years, I have brought a dream to reality including working with brands, musicians, and being featured in various publications such as VoyageDallas, Us Weekly, Today, and more, all while being a full-time student, working at a separate job, and now navigating with an autoimmune disease. Nothing will stop me from achieving my goals and making sure my clients receive “Goldn” images.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Getting a message from a client saying, “looking forward to working with you again.”
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
A huge goal of mine is to photograph an artist for an album cover. Music is the other half of my heart and there are so many iconic album covers, I am just waiting for the day to photograph one myself. Musicians, hit me up!
