Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paul Wilson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Paul, appreciate you joining us today. How do you think about spending on things like coffee when times are tough?
Ive always been lean on spending with self care products but i believe that that is not always necessary, sometimes you do need to treat yourself and take care of your own person. The real way to spend correctly is knowing when and how to spend your limited resources be that time money or people you need to have a good budget that works for you before you can grow anything.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Paul Wilson(he/him) and ive lived in alabama most of my life, i grew up around family that all had the ability to use their hands to make something and that has been ingrained in me since childhood. I am a leather craftsman and jeweler that does everything by hand out of my home be that sewing or metallurgy i mainly stick to small products but my big pull would be that i do custom hoods at a low price, I truly do believe that leather goods are overpriced at the moment and that people should be able to get good things that will last a long time for a good price.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I have had many things ive learned working in leather but something i had to unlearn was truly speed leather is a craft that can not be done with speed especially when hand sewing and cutting when i fist started i wanted to lake things as fast as possible but i was ruining product and materials by moving to fast i had to learn to be slower both in leather and life.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
For a long time i put the business down at that time i was the only one working for it so i was able to do that, the work from the business was not supporting the life i wanted to live so i started being a cook at a restaurant in town and stop going to shows for about a year. Coming back from that has been a crawl to this day i lost most of my audience and had to find new shows to go to but i stuck through and now have 3 employees and love what im doing, from that i also found a love for cooking and explore that side of my creative brain as a break from time to time.
