We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Molly McCormack. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Molly below.
Alright, Molly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Mammoth Club comes from our name first and foremost. MAM is our initials — Molly, Alan, Max — and we were trying to incorporate them into the name somehow. Mammoth was initially suggested as a joke, but it stuck, which is quite fitting. Club comes from our desire to do more than just make content — we wanted this to be a community. Club reminds us of hanging out with your friends as a kid, and that’s the vibe we want. Everyone is welcome and invited to join the Club.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We started as best friends, first and foremost. When we are together, it’s nonstop laughter and silly adventures — things like buy 9 types of Mac&Cheese to find the best possible combination of noodle shapes and cheese. We talked about making something together for years, as a way to get creative outside of our 9-5 jobs. Eventually we took a leap of faith and started Mammoth Club. We’ve had some incredible opportunities to make content since launching in August 2022 — we’ve created a successfully ranked podcast, hundreds of videos, and dozens of livestreams. We’ve traveled to New York City, Los Angeles, the Caribbean, and Japan. I think what sets us apart is our focus on community, authenticity, and joy.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Taking new risks and seeing them pay off. Numbers aren’t always an indicator of success — but as long as we’re always trying new things and are proud of what we’re creating, that is success to us.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Making content that is authentic to us. Trends are great, but the minute you start making things because you think you *should* or are always chasing trends, people can see through it.
