We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nadria Senoussi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nadria, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Coming up with a name for a brand can often feel like an arduous task, but for me, it was a quick process filled with inspiration and personal significance. When I envisioned my art, I wanted it to serve as an oasis, a refuge for my clients, a place where they could find solace and escape from the daily stresses of life. This desire to create a sanctuary-like experience for my audience became the driving force behind the name of my brand: “SafahnaScapes Art.”
The name itself is derived from my social media handle, Safahna, which I have been using for years. I decided to combine my middle name, Safah, with the first two letters of my first name, Nadria, resulting in the unique and evocative name, “Safahna.” It felt natural to incorporate this name that has become synonymous with my artistic persona into my brand.
The moment this name emerged in my mind, I felt an undeniable connection to it. It resonated with me on a deep level and confirmed my belief that I was destined to establish this business. It was as if the name itself was a manifestation of my artistic vision, encapsulating the essence of what I wanted to offer to my clients.
By choosing “SafahnaScapes,” I aimed to convey not only the beauty and serenity of the art I create but also the power of art to transport and transform. I wanted my brand to be more than just a collection of paintings; I wanted it to be an experience, a journey into a world of tranquility and inspiration.
Sharing the story behind the name of my brand allows me to forge a deeper connection with my clients. It reinforces the notion that my art is not just about aesthetics but about creating an emotional connection and offering a respite from the chaos of everyday life.
In conclusion, the name “SafahnaScapes art” is a testament to my commitment to providing a sanctuary of beauty and escapism through my art. It represents the fusion of my social media identity and my personal name, symbolizing my artistic journey and the profound impact I hope to have on those who engage with my work.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, readers! My name is Nadria Senoussi and I am thrilled to share my journey with you. From a young age, I have always had a passion for making people around me feel worthy and the art of thrifting. I wanted to model since I was a little girl. After high school, one of my teachers introduced me to the world of modeling and it really sparked a fire within me. Over the past 7 years, I have honed my skills in client service, gained fashion knowledge, and built a successful modeling career.
Utilizing my expertise and experience, I aim to provide a range of products and services to cater to my clients’ needs. On one hand, I offer affordable art pieces through my fluid art line. These unique creations are made from thrifted canvases and materials, promoting sustainability in the creative process.
Beyond my creative pursuits, I am also committed to making a positive impact. In my styling work, I focus on thrifting and styling clients on their budget, promoting sustainable fashion choices and fighting against fast fashion and overproduction. I believe in the power of fashion to empower individuals while being conscious of our environmental impact.
One of the problems I solve for my clients is providing them with affordable and sustainable art and fashion options. By repurposing thrifted materials, I offer unique and eco-friendly creations that stand out from the crowd. Additionally, I host events where I bring together local small businesses and creative communities, such as the modeling and art community. These events provide a platform for emerging talent to showcase their work and foster collaboration and support within the creative industry.
What I am most proud of is how far I have come in such a short time on social media. Through my online presence, I have been able to connect with a wide audience and share my passion for sustainable fashion, art, and modeling. It brings me great joy to inspire others and create a positive impact through my work.
In essence, I am a model and artist who is dedicated to promoting sustainability and creativity. I provide affordable and sustainable art and fashion options, solving problems for clients who seek unique and environmentally conscious choices. I am proud of my social media journey and the events I host to support local businesses and creative communities. I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my work is driven by passion, sustainability, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their lives.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Building my reputation within the market has been a result of various factors. One key aspect has been my active participation in networking events, meetups, and markets. By attending these gatherings, I have had the opportunity to meet and connect with individuals from different backgrounds in the modeling, fashion and creative industry. Over time, as I deepened my knowledge and understanding of this world, I reached a point where I was able to host my own events, which I am continuously working to make bigger and more impactful.
An important element that has contributed to my reputation is authenticity. Every time I interact with potential connections in my industry, I make it a point to showcase my true self. By being genuine and transparent, I have earned the trust and respect of those around me. This has played a significant role in helping me grow and make a name for myself.
Additionally, I firmly believe in the power of positivity. Going out of my way to make people smile and spreading happiness has greatly contributed to my good social opinion. By consistently demonstrating kindness and a willingness to help others, I have built strong relationships and established a positive reputation within my market.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Throughout my journey, there is one story that truly showcases my resilience. It was a period in my life when I found myself in a place of zero self-worth, lacking confidence, and struggling to believe in myself. However, I made a conscious decision to change my circumstances and work towards achieving my dreams, regardless of the challenges that lay ahead.
The true test of my resilience came when I found the strength to leave a four-year abusive relationship. This was a pivotal moment that required immense courage and determination. By breaking free from that toxic situation, I took the first step towards reclaiming my life and rebuilding my sense of self-worth.
With newfound empowerment, I threw myself into the world of modeling when the opportunity presented itself. This was a significant leap of faith, as I had to overcome any lingering doubts and insecurities. But I persevered and never stopped fighting for myself.
As I pushed forward, I discovered that I was capable of achieving far more than I had ever imagined. The journey of rebuilding my confidence and self-worth allowed me to tap into my inner strength and resilience. It was through this process that I realized my true potential, surpassing even my own expectations.
