Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brady C. Smart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Brady C., thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

When I was a child, I was always intrigued by music in different cultures and enlightened by the feeling it gave me. The sensation of meaningfulness I got when I first started performing on stage, helped me to determine that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.

I was molded in my early childhood years to speak in front of crowds. My mom was an English, Theatre & Drama, and beginner French teacher. At the age of 8, I would be entered in my first oratorical speaking competition and would go on to win many awards and accolades.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Well hello there, my name is Brady C. Smart. I live a recluse life with my wife, singer, Kessey Monae, on the Smart- Menzies family estate in Holmes, County, MS. My career has elevated within the entertainment industry over 25 yrs. I have released several recordings in my home state Mississippi from ALL genres, I’ve appeared in many live stage and play productions as the lead actor such as August Wilson’s ‘Fences’, Mama I Want to Sing, Bubbling Brown Sugar, Damn Yankees, The Harlem Renaissance, and Lend Me A Tender to name a few.

As a child prodigy, starting from age 9, I was requested to perform on many church programs, concerts, and local television broadcasts.  As the requested featured vocalist for Dr. Dorothy Height at several NCNW conventions and having shared the stage with
iconic greats such as Evelyn Turrentine Agee, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Patti Labelle, and Marvin Sapp, gospel singing has certainly taken me on many adventurous travels.

In 2014, I established BCS PRODUCTIONS INC, a full-service musical production company. This company encompasses 12 divisions, which provides a platform for independent musical artists’ growth. Such as Smart Menzies Manor which offers stage, musical, and vocal production, instrument & vocal training, and Consort’s Corner which offers artist booking, retail and travel
management, and contracting. BCS PRODUCTIONS INC also implemented a series of concerts, tours, and performances in concert halls, nightclubs, festivals, cruise ships, ballrooms, private events, and college campuses, providing signed artists with avenues for showcasing their talent.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Being able to share my gifts with different people and cultures around the world. I love that I’m able to share my art and my perspective and have it received so openly. As the years pass, I’m able to see the growth of my artistry and the legacy I will leave behind.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

The fulfillment of pursuing my lifelong endeavors. It has been my dream for people to hear my music and that it truly resonates with their hearts. My main goal with anything I do is to show LOVE. Without love, I wouldn’t be here. I’ve made it my mission to make sure in everything I sing, write, say, and do that I’ll always show love because without the love of my supporters, there would be no me.
