Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Seth Beamer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Seth, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I love this question, because to me I can’t really think of a time where I wanted to do anything else. Sure, I’ve pursued other outlets and ways of making money, but in the back of my head all I’ve ever wanted to do is make music and create things. The leap to making it my professional path, however, has not always been so cut and clear. It took me a long time of putting myself out there, doing work for free, bleeding my finances dry, making connections, and saying a whole lot of “yes” until I ultimately can now say I work as an artist professionally. And hey, let’s be honest, I am STILL working hard at getting what I want out of this career. But when did I first know I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally? I’ve always wanted it, I just had to reach out and grab it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am both a full time recording artist/musician and filmmaker. Because of my musical network, I specialize in a lot of music related video content such as music videos, artist promo, reels/tiktoks, portrait work, etc.
I’ve been playing music for a long time (since I was 3 in fact). And I think what sets me apart from others in the creative space, and especially in the video world, is that I know what it’s like to be on both sides of the lens. I know what I would want somebody to do to make me look “cool” and create engaging content. And so I find myself just trying to do that for my clients.
Of course I do more than just music related content, and have created for all sorts of clients in the past. But music is where my true passion is, and where I feel most confident and creative. It’s a blast to get to create and build a whole brand and aesthetic for another artist.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
If you want to grow on social media I have two very tangible tips for you –
Tip 1 – be HOT
Now this tip isn’t necessarily fair, we aren’t all supermodels. But if you are then lucky you! That’s a fast track to growing on social media. However, if you are like me and are in fact NOT a supermodel, here’s my second tip –
Tip 2 – be HELPFUL
This is how I grew on instagram. I created video lessons on guitar and my followers shot up! At my fastest I was gaining 1,000 followers a day. In an economy of free information, you have to make it worth it for people to stick around. The best part about this though is you can be helpful about ANYTHING! Make it unique to you and what you like, and the audience that you grow will be of a feather :)
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is getting to see the tangible fruits of what I make. That’s honestly why I do it. To get to leave something behind, a piece of me. And the fact that it can be helpful or inspiring to another person on their own journey makes it all the sweeter.
