We recently connected with Dianna Liner and have shared our conversation below.
Dianna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
I have been in the music industry for over 20 plus years. When I started it was simple. There was no singing shows or reality shows, so artist were REAL artists that Wrote music, played instruments and were very talented. Not to say artist today are not, it’ just it seems music has become very plastic. Anyone can get a computer and create a song… also the record labels no longer seek out talent the way they use to.. Record Labels use to send out their talent scouts to bars, festivals etc to scout new talent. Going to bars where there may be only 20 people in the bar, but the artist would perform like they were performing in front of 1000 people.
NOW. The industry is so full of Fluff. everyone thinks they are a singer or a rapper and its awful. (again NOT ALL) but most. Now Its all about TIK TOK.. I am afraid the industry is going downhill… I wish the industry would get back to the MUSIC instead of the fluff .. Finding Artist that actually WRITE their own music and have a history of writing and a story tell.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into the industry 20 years. Working in Pop radio and eventually went on the road with Nsync as an assistant to their then record rep. I also working for various record labels under their college program and also worked for MTV as a Music Reporter called “Stringers” at that time. After I go back from doing some dates with Nsync. I started Liner Entertaiment Group. Liner Entertainment Group is a Talent Management, PR, and booking firm. Anyone can learn more our firm by Visiting our website. www.linerentertainmentgroup.com
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
We currently manage reccording artists ( singers ) We also handle actors. I have to the best source for our singers and actors are social media. Its a great way to build their fan base. also other media outlets like radio, magazines etc.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I would say do your research and if anyone is interested in getting into the entertainment industry on the management or talent side. It’s best to start working as an intern while in college, networking and learning as much as you can about the business side of industry.
