We caught up with the brilliant and insightful LaPria Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
LaPria, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
This is a great question. The name behind my company in which is Davis Dynasty Resources comes simply from my last name. I wanted to make sure that I use my name as my brand/platform and also to create a legacy with my name through my business. There were so many options I had in mind but when it came down to settling for the right one that was it !

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello to everyone my name is LaPria Davis I am a venture capitalist and a entrepreneur. The name of my company is Davis Dynasty Resources LLC in which is a logistics and management company. The brand is to enhance and insure that all clients are satisfied with our services provided. I am proud of the consistency that I bring within my company constantly branding so that I can reach as much clientele as possible and creating those relationships worldwide. What sets me apart from others is ensuring that I am impressing the customer at every opportunity I get and providing the best service. How did I get into the industry I am in by doing heavy research but I always knew I wanted to do logistics because it’s very abroad so of course incorporating my other expertise to the brand adds on the extra resources that are provided through the brand DDR (Davis Dynasty Resources).

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A time I had to pivot with my business I can’t remember the actual date but I know during the first year I had a lot of setbacks but I took a lot of information from those setbacks. Being that I’m a female and working by myself trying to figure out the ropes of logistics it became hard but I kept going. I did have to sit back a couple months but the business was still active I just didn’t have much clientele so the revenue was not the best. I had to go back to the drawing board and figure out how can I move differently to try and maximize some kind of profit and so I did that which meant putting the business on a standstill.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
The story of putting up the initial capital I needed to start my business was honestly just working to save. I was a college student at the time so I didn’t have much money coming in if any college student reads this article they can understand exactly where I am coming from lol. All in all I worked hard and saved every check I received to have the capital that I needed to start my business.
