We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karol Dias a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Karol, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
To be a tattoo artist is to understand that dealing with end customers is inevitable, involving intimate connections. Tattoos are permanent, and when a tattoo artist creates something irreversible on another person’s body, it becomes a risk. However, it’s a positive risk, offering daily challenges, and I love this.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I chose tattooing because it’s something I truly love. I’ve always wanted to love my work genuinely, and working with what you love doesn’t mean you won’t face significant challenges. Art is demanding, keeping up with the industry and generational changes requires a lot. Things have changed drastically in the tattooing field. In my opinion, within this scenario, it’s essential to consider timeless art so that clients don’t tire of it in the long run. That’s why working with botany and floral designs was my choice. I always aim to add fluidity and mach the art to each body I work on.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I still consider myself old-fashioned when it comes to NFTs. I’m not against them, but I don’t see myself entering that market.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media is a powerful ally in marketing, and just like in real life, I’m very honest with my followers and clients on social platforms. I believe consistency and honesty are paramount. growth comes naturally through these principles.”
