Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shemar Pierre. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shemar, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Big risk, big reward. Believe in yourself. Know that what you want is yours already and walk in the direction of that goal. You fail when you stop.

Shemar, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a multidisciplinary, recording artist from small town America, whose avant garde approach to HipHop has set me apart from my contemporaries. I’ve only been making music for about 2 years with my debut project “NEXUS :: Discipline” releasing in 2022. I’m attempting to break new ground with unique production, and using my film background to create cinematic world building experiences through shows and my marketing.
I have a college degree in animation/film and graphic design. All the marketing for the most part is designed and directed by me personally. Everything is apart of the art and the world I am trying to build. The music is just a piece.
Since the release of my most recent project “ALL COWBOYS GO TO HEAVEN” (the work that I am most proud of) I have began to build a strong core audience and attracted the likes of Columbia records and Travis Scott’s label Cactus Jack records.
The month following “ALL COWBOYS GO TO HEAVEN” I have thrown these crazy theatrical shows titled “COWBOY CIRCUIT” with the intention to create a release/escape for all that take part. Featuring choreography live instruments and lots and lots of dancing.
One thing I want people to take away from me and my work is that it’s purely about the art. I out my heart into it. I take the risk. If you’re truly an artist that’s the only way you’re able to live. All of this is bigger than me. And I want you to feel that.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Something that non-creatives will struggle to understand is that it’s not about the money. Because 9 times out of 10 the money isn’t there in the beginning. If I make 0$ off of this I will continue to do it. If I’m not making things and creating I go into a dark place.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think I speak for most artists when I say we’re not the most vocal people. Art allows a space to get your feelings out without having to say anything. And sometimes it’s just easier to put it in a song. But being able to release what’s in your mind and heart into the world and curate it then have it touch people and make them feel something is the most rewarding feeling.
