Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kore Charles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kore, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had started sooner?
A lot of life is about the experiences you get and understanding them on lots of different perspectives. My perspective on starting early might be like anyone else, but the outlook or the after effect keeps me pushing. I always thought starting early was the key and there are days where I still think that, however with the childhood I had, I might have not gotten the opportunity I wanted regardless. I thank everyday I’m still limber and partially young for the sports I want to do. The thought helps me continue to realize not everyone could even have that chance. In the end, do I wish I started earlier absolutely, so the question should’ve asked, would I change my childhood experience? Not in a million years.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kore and I’m 21. One thing everyone will know or soon to know about me is I LOVE cartoons! It’s where my love for a lot of my niches come from. I got into the industry consistently watching cartoons of all sorts. They shape anything physically, theoretically, mentally, and so much more. They’ve shaped me. It, also, takes a very talented to crew that includes so many creatives, like voices, music, animating, illustrations, directing and on and on. I hope one day I could be apart of it all. I started an animation back in 2020 that I hope to release on YouTube April 2024. Be on the lookout! Dimensional Things!
I also have so much more in store from music to art. I hope I can broaden my horizon and keep furthering my skills.
I hope to get a fanbase of my own someday.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Being homeless knocked me off my feet. It was wreckless and scary. Everything I did felt like I was walking on egg shells. I feel heavy for those who’ve dealt with it & worse for still dealing with it. So, not only does it show my resilience, but the resilience of SO many others.
Getting into details always put me to tears, but I hope to never experience it again and help those now & in the future to fight as well.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
To describe what I had to unlearn in one word is, Trust.
Not giving trust, taking away trust.
I have the biggest problem of letting go of friendships or relationships that no longer provide me into being a better person. I find it difficult to know when to put my foot down and not having to trust someone. I find myself very forgivable, however I feel like I’m an internally angry person and push that anger out on those I care about.
I’m still ‘unlearning’, but I hope to see the other side of the tunnel.
I hope some day, I’m America’s next best thing!
