We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Todd Hicks a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Todd, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

I spent the last 40 years as a successful Financial Advisor serving clients to create wealth and then help them manage their assets thru their retirement. Once my wife and I went through a similar program in Dallas Tx, everything changed for me. I watched people that had been carrying pain, hurts, resentment and bitterness due to life’s situations and hard knocks, release the pain and baggage and flourish afterwards. Once the healing begins on a personal level, then the dynamics are dramatically changed in every aspect including relationships. We have had couples that have come thru that describe Love Recon as one of the most important pivotal moments in their life. Most rank LR as one of the top 3-5 events in their lives.
We have seen divorce papers torn up, marriages healed and turned around, childhood trauma overcome and dropped, watched people bloom into someone they could have never been if healing and change didn’t occur in their lives. I have truly found my passion and purpose in life, helping others break free from what’s been holding them back in life. There’s nothing more fulfilling than to watch others excel in their marriage and to see homes mended, to see attendees achieve new heights in their lives and finding excellence and balance moving forward. The countenance and demeanor of the attendees are clearly noticeable and evident by the end of the Love Recon Experience.

Todd, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Love Recon is arguably the most effective and powerful marriage tool available for couples. 85% effective for couples to turn around their marriage into a rewarding and fulfilling relationship. During the day we work on the marriage and provide effective tools to navigate the relationship differently. The evenings (Life Recon) is spent working on themselves as an individual. We all carry baggage and damage from past events and relationships that are certainly affecting the current relationships. Until these hurdles are dealt with and overcome, it is difficult to find true success in many areas of our lives.

Love Recon is a hands on, non-lecture journey that last after the lights have been turned off and we all return home. We are not changed by what we learn or hear, but we are transformed by what we experience!

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?

Love Recon is conducted by a full staff of qualified Master Life Coaches. Our team of directors along with volunteers that have attended the program previously, referred to as “guides” are the secret to our success. The program is not built around any specific person but ran by a passionate and driven team.

Most marriage help programs or seminars are lecture driven and they only address marital issues. Our program goes much deeper than that. Our tag line is “Better Marriages and a Better You”. By working on the relationship as well as the individuals attending, the real results are exponential and lasting.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

Love Recon was born in December of 2017. We held our first event in the beginning of 2018. We were two years old when Covid-19 hit and it basically shut us down for 1.5 years. Seeing that our events are interactive and in a group setting, it was very difficult to conduct a seminar with everyone wearing mask and scared to death of contracting the virus.

The momentum that we had built was suddenly jerked out from under us.

As a resilient group does, we put our hands to the plow and began to rebuild and start over again fresh and anew. It was certainly a challenge and would have been really easy to give up but that’s not in our DNA. We have discovered a process that works beyond belief and helps people in a way that very few can do. Counselors and therapist say that LR is equivalent to 2-3 years of therapy in 4 short days.
