We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Danielle Wallace a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Danielle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
At Chayil Media Publishing, a boutique copywriting & video storytelling agency, I’m committed to empowering powerhouse online coaches to flip their facts into cohesive, sales-driven narratives.
My path to founding Chayil Media Publishing in June 2019, was paved during my seven years as a TV news reporter in Central & Southeast Alabama, a self-published author during my college days, and founder of a digital/print magazine for Christian women.
When I was a reporter – especially during my time as a one-woman show (someone who filmed, edited, and wrote my own stories) I developed a great eye for compelling stories that connected with people.
I noticed a big gap in the business world, particularly among online coaches – the art of storytelling wasn’t used often. This realization sparked a passion in me which is to help these visionary leaders become Story-Sellers,
I believe that every online coach has a unique story to tell. Their journeys, experiences, and impact they have on their clients are stories that deserve to be shared through compelling copywriting and videos.
Danielle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a strategy-obsessed copywriter & video storytelling strategist that helps online coaches flip facts into sales-driven narratives.
My services include:
1. Done-for-you copywriting for your website, email marketing, sales pages, and social media platforms.
2. Custom Instagram Reels – handling everything from strategy and shooting to editing, captions, and graphics.
3. The Story-Seller’s Video Lab, an 8-week program where you’ll work with me to learn how to create compelling social media video content for your brand.
So far, I’m most proud of the clients I’ve helped and speaking opportunities that I’ve had with my alma mater Troy University, National Association of Black Journalists, and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When it comes to building my audience on social media, I always take this approach: Don’t overthink.
I go into planning sessions for my content with a reminder that I’m an expert and it shouldn’t be hard to create my content.
I try to be consistent as possible with quality content – and I love experimenting with different formats for my posts to see what works and what doesn’t work.
I think one of the biggest things that led me to having success with my business on social media is my experience from building the Instagram page for my digital/print magazine way back in 2015. Back then I was able to build that page significantly. Right now, it sits at over 9K followers.
Some followers have left. I think some left because of the pivot from just helping Christian women to helping Christian women creatives in business. It went from being a digital/print magazine to a community-based resource for its blog, podcast, and email list. It’s OK that they have. It’s a reminder that you must always want to speak to your target audience.
But to sum it up, my experience with that brand which is called “The Virtuous Creative” (formerly known as Memoirs of a Virtuous Woman) has helped in the way I show up on social media for Chayil Media Publishing.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Honestly, I’ve never been shy about sharing on social media what I’m up to as a creative. Long before Instagram existed, I’d share my poetry on my personal Facebook page, and even parts of my journey where I was self-publishing my poetry book. That was way back in 2011. I just kept that up over the years, even when I was a reporter. I felt that it was always good to let people know what I was up to and the impact I was making.
