Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aminul Islam. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aminul, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creative industry has been a transformative and dynamic trend, presenting a range of concerns and opportunities. Let’s explore some key aspects.
Concerns:
Job Displacement:
One of the primary concerns is the potential displacement of human jobs. As AI becomes more proficient at tasks traditionally carried out by creatives, there’s a fear that certain roles may become obsolete.
Loss of Originality:
There’s apprehension that relying heavily on AI for creative tasks might lead to a loss of human touch and originality in art, music, writing, and other creative domains.
Ethical Dilemmas:
AI, particularly in the creative field, raises ethical questions. For instance, who owns the rights to an AI-generated piece of music or art? How do we address bias in AI algorithms?
Opportunities:
Augmentation of Creativity:
AI has the potential to augment human creativity by offering tools and assistance. Creative professionals can leverage AI to enhance their workflow, generate ideas, and even collaborate with intelligent systems.
Efficiency and Automation:
AI can automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks, allowing creatives to focus on higher-level thinking and innovation. This can lead to increased productivity and a more streamlined creative process.
New Forms of Art:
AI introduces the possibility of entirely new forms of art and creativity that were previously unattainable. Generative AI, for example, can produce unique and intricate designs or compositions.
Trend Anecdote:
Let’s consider the emergence of AI in graphic design. Imagine a design agency that has started using AI-powered tools to assist their designers. Instead of manually sifting through endless design possibilities, the AI system helps narrow down options based on client preferences, industry trends, and historical data.
One designer at the agency recounts an experience where they were working on a logo design for a client. The AI tool suggested several design elements based on the client’s brand history, target audience, and contemporary design trends. The designer, inspired by these suggestions, then added their creative touch to the recommended concepts, resulting in a unique and impactful logo that exceeded the client’s expectations.
In this anecdote, AI serves as a collaborative partner, aiding the designer in the creative process rather than replacing them. This trend reflects the evolving relationship between AI and human creativity, where the fusion of technology and artistic intuition leads to more efficient and innovative outcomes in the creative industry.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative can vary from person to person, as it is often a subjective and personal experience.
Self-Expression:
Creating art allows individuals to express their thoughts, emotions, and perspectives in a unique and personal way. It provides a means of communication that goes beyond words.
Personal Growth:
The creative process often involves facing challenges, overcoming obstacles, and pushing one’s boundaries. This can contribute to personal growth, resilience, and a deeper understanding of oneself.
Connection with Others:
Art has the power to connect people on an emotional level. When others resonate with an artist’s work, it can create a sense of shared experience and connection.
Impact on Others:
Knowing that your work has the power to inspire, provoke thought, or evoke emotions in others can be incredibly fulfilling. Art has the potential to influence and shape perspectives.
Freedom and Autonomy:
Many artists value the freedom and autonomy that comes with the creative process. It allows for self-direction, exploration, and the ability to bring one’s imagination to life.
Creating Something Timeless:
Art has the ability to outlive its creator, leaving a lasting legacy. Knowing that your work may be appreciated and remembered for generations can be a powerful motivator.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
One aspect that non-creatives may find challenging to grasp about the creative process is the nature of inspiration and idea generation. Creativity often involves nonlinear thinking, the ability to connect seemingly unrelated concepts, and finding inspiration in unexpected places. It’s not always a straightforward or logical process, which can be difficult for those who prefer structured and linear approaches to understand.
Creativity also involves a certain level of vulnerability and risk-taking. Artists and creators often put their ideas and work out into the world, knowing that not everyone will appreciate or understand their vision. This willingness to take risks and face potential criticism or rejection can be challenging for individuals who are more risk-averse or seek clear, quantifiable outcomes.
Additionally, the iterative nature of the creative process may be misunderstood by those who expect a linear path to success. Creatives often embrace failure as a stepping stone to improvement, learning from mistakes, and refining their ideas through multiple iterations. This resilience in the face of setbacks may be difficult for individuals who fear failure or are not accustomed to navigating uncertainty.
Ultimately, the creative journey is a unique and personal experience, and its nuances may be challenging for non-creatives to fully comprehend. However, fostering an open-minded and empathetic attitude can help bridge the understanding gap and encourage collaboration and appreciation for the value of creativity in various fields.
