We were lucky to catch up with Norris Duckett III recently and have shared our conversation below.
Norris, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Everything we choose to do in life has some kind of risk involved. For myself the path I’ve chosen I honestly ran from for years because I knew what it would take to accomplish and what it would take away from me. After coming to terms with my mission I was built up and broken down and transformed me into a better human. My understanding of life is a bit different from probably most, none the less its that perspective that’s important because the work I do takes someone that really cares and that is willing to risk it all. I’ve honestly cried a few times over the things I’ve seen and experienced, because things are really easy for us as people to change or adjust to get our life right but we sometime rather defend our flaws and break priceless relations due to selfishness and holding on to false ideologies.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well my Name is Norris Duckett III MFA P.K.N. (Professional Krump Name) Cosmic the industry/s I work in is Academics, Arts, Dance, Hip-Hop, Krump, And Youth Outreach. I have a long list of titles and hats I wear but I feel are irrelevant and I’m just a human out in this world helping build better communities and building bridges between the gaps of age, skills, information, etc. When I’m approached by anyone and they are seeking help the first thing I do is discover if they want to help themself, then from there I can assist in guiding them on their journey of self discovery and acting on their potential to maximize their capabilities and accomplish what they are seeking to do. I guess I’m a bit of a mentor, resource center, coach, and many other things my job really is to embrace people I come across and show them what they are doing correct already and give proper critique to open the mind. That’s what I do as a Professor Photographer Videographer and Founder of Krump Society and Norris Photography.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes Ive grown up and matured but I’m still a kid at heart. With that being said many of my fam and friends do all kinds of things no judgement on my end I accept people for who they are; but I also correct them if they out of line. I have people incarcerated, at war, coping with addictions, lost in life and some more stuff. little do people realize #krump4theolympics is Divine, Krump comes from Los Angeles the Ghettos of LA. Did you know 2028 the Olympics will be in Los Angeles #la28? What better way to have the olympics and complete full circle of a wide spread movement and some of the most athletic people of the world earn respect on the largest stage of what olympics was created for, to end war. Krump is already worldwide and now is the time for the world to see raw uncut Krump not the commercialized version.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have had to have some of the most difficult conversations with the closest people to me and almost broken everything I’m doing it for. falling out with people over the dumbest things and trust and believe it hurt my heart to the core waiting to hopefully mend it because we gotta love more. And still I keep on this mission impossible I’m on and created some stuff such a #weoutside sweaters showing the world things I’ve learned such as #dadsmatter. one day soon everything will unify for now iron is sharpening iron.
