We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful DeNard Farmer . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with DeNard below.
DeNard , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
The sort of legacy that I would hope to build would be one that is most impactful to people who have a love for fashion, but is afraid to break all the rules. Those who continue to hold back and hide in the shadows of not being comfortable. I think people would say that I live a comfortable, fashionable and inspiring lifestyle. I hope to be remembered for my love for fashion and my unique courageous style. Influencing and encouraging all to never stop chasing their dreams.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
So I will start off by saying I was not always into modeling, fashion or reality tv. One thing lead to another. I started modeling back in college during my undergraduate years at The University of Alabama where I became a member of a modeling troupe called, “Moda Elite”. We were known for being a fashion house but on the runway. We would host our very own fashion shows on campus and also supported and participated in local city fashion shows in the city of Tuscaloosa. This is where my love for fashion came into play because I was surrounded by like minded people who also loved fashion. We were people who did not judge you for being YOU. I can truly say we all brought a different taste and unique style to “Moda” which made our organization unmatched from any other organizations on campus. We were a troupe breaking rules, setting trends and opening doors for all, but most important a FAMILY. I changed my major from Business Administration to Fashion Retail/ Design my sophomore year because I found something that I really loved doing. Fashion has led me to connect with so many others and a job with one of the biggest retailers in the world H&M. I.e models, photographers, music artist, influencers, designers and so on. It also has open the door for me in reality tv as well. I’m now apart of something I never imagined or dreamed of. All new Season 3 of Real Life & Philanthropy which will air December 2023 on the Real Life Reality YouTube channel. I am most proud of my success and dedication to allowing growth and new challenges in my life, it has allowed me to love myself more than ever.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think building relationships with talents and networking has helped build my reputation. Also social media, creating content and sharing it with the world.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson that I had to unlearn would be letting others deter you from your dreams, passions or goals. I use to listen to people say that you can’t have a career in fashion. You won’t make enough money, or you should find something that is more promising for your future.
