Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Donna Bradley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Donna , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
It’s funny that you’re asking me about risk taking at this point in my journey of business because its all risk.
The last time we spoke I was discovering my design voice in the real estate industry. I had just completed 2 major projects for The Reserves and The Oasis.
Since then, I’ve actually completed my Real estate brokers class. I was then accepted into The Women’s Entrepreneurship Business Class through Cornell University in collaboration with Bank of America Institute.
Can I say, Certified Cornell University Alumni…lol
At this point, the risk for me is more about the fear of settling for less. I have to bet on me now. The old Donna was a procrastinator.
I started asking broker girlfriend’s when did they know it was time to go on their own.
After much prayer,I stepped out on faith. In October 2023, I launched Atlanta Homes and Design Co. A full service real estate brokerage firm with a design studio.
This firm is set up for us to work together. You don’t work for Donna. You are a business /boss and I’m here to help you get to where you want to be. We are growing together at AHDC.
I’m excited to see where Jazz-min Roberson, our buyer’s agent and Toura Moore, our lead interior designer goes.
This was a risk because it was something that I hadn’t seen in the industry before. I want agents and designers that might have real life going on…ie jobs etc. I want them to know that you can do both. I hated hearing from agents that say company required that they be full time to be serious in the industry. We’re going to change that mindset. You have to be a go getter for sure.
So I said, someone has to do it, so it’ll be me.
Wow, I’ve said a lot before even re-introducing myself…lol!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Donna Bradley, I’m a native of Atlanta and a Grady baby through and through lol.
I’ve been in the industry for overs 10yrs. I believe in being a transparent Realtor- Broker and a mentor where I can be. I’m a member of the Dekalb Board of Realtors and also RESA, which is the Real Estate Staging Association. I graduated from ICOES for Interior Design. Lastly, I’m a Board member of Hamilton Homes Asset Group.
I’m passionate about closing home ownership gap. I want to see real estate taught in middle school and on the high school level through their pathways programs.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
If there was a one stop formula for clientele building we would all be seeing on crazy leads. I believe it comes down to you being you, everywhere you go.
I can talk about real estate all day long but I can also listen. Of course, I do social media but majority of my clients are truly word of mouth.
I tell people to not rely on friends and family to build your business.
It will be outsiders that trust you first so get outside and start talking to them.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I have some time I will probably write a book on being resilient . I don’t want to give away too much of what I’m also working on in 2024. I’ll say this, my past is what built me into the women I’ve become. The good, the bad, and ugly has created my beautiful, powerful life.
It took me years to be ready to be seen and here I am. I want other women to be ready to be seen also. Let nothing or know one stop you from getting through your journey.
