We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Debra Hult. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Debra below.
Debra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Every person is facing a battle we know nothing about, including you and me. Unfortunately most allow the battle to become their identity in a negative manner. If we could be mindful that life happens FOR US, not to us, we can turn those battles into our gifts vs our burdens. In turn that equips us to help others facing battles. Our mission is to value people, add value to them so they will in turn value others to enhance self-worth and humanity.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
At Core Trainings we provide an understanding of the power in Relational Leadership. Our programs are not only designed to enhance one’s personal growth, but to empower the leader within and intentionally become the next best version of self. We believe that building meaningful and intentional relationships determines our leadership effectiveness and opens the path for influence! At Core Trainings we empower and equip leaders by raising awareness of what leadership is, and what leadership is not. We are the leader in student leadership and mentoring programs across the country.
In attending our workshops, and implementing our programs, one elevates their confidence to lead courageously in the classroom, on the fields, in the locker rooms, in the board room and in their communities. Our workshops are interactive, participant driven, and intentionally focus on value-based leadership.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I chose to answer this question because I believe if you are a business owner, entrepreneur than resiliency is something we practice regularly! Because of my upbringing it fuels my passion and purpose to lead and mentor others. I get to spend many days implementing our leadership and mentoring programs across the country, and specifically on school campuses working with teenagers. When I began my business there were two statements that came up regularly from others. 1. Why would you want to work with teenagers, they are so emotional and just don’t understand leadership and 2. Schools do not have any money so how will you ever make it? So first, without being rude, I had to make a decision to not allow room at the table for the enemy. I also had to be mindful to not allow others limiting beliefs and disbelief of my dream to be the authors of my purpose and passion. Thankfully fifteen years later I am the number one sought after company for student leadership. I have always believed in my purpose, my gifts and belief in young people.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I love this question because if you are going to be successful in life whether it be amazing at home mom (which I was at one point for my children), have a career, own a business and have a significant life you must be a life long learner. I am a huge fan of personal growth regardless of what you do with your life. Being a certified Maxwell Speaker I highly recommend anything with Maxwell Leadership. I am also a fan of podcasts so I listen/read to a ton of Ed Mylett, Valorie Burton, Joyce Meyers, and recently Dr. Alisa Whyte podcast. An all time favorite book is Developing the Leader Within You 2.0 and 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.
