Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erica Greene. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Erica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Homeownership is for everyone! My mission is to share my knowledge of homeownership with the community. Growing up in and out of shelters in Savannah Ga from the Safe Shelter to Greenbrair, my older brother and I have experienced our fair share of homelessness. I knew as a child all my family needed was a place to live for us to be together and happy. When I got older and my understanding of rentals and ownership expanded, I knew I needed to share what I know. I pride myself in never using high pressured sales tactics, my goal is to empower my buyers with the knowledge to make the best decisions for their family. I have lost plenty of clients because other agents would come in and persuade the buyers to “hurry and buy”, but that’s not how I conduct business.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Erica Greene, I am a local Realtor, comedy show promoter, and I’m currently a junior at Georgia Southern University on the Armstrong campus studying psychology and communication. I was born here in Savannah, but I’ve lived all over Georgia, from Atlanta to Valdosta and a good number of little country towns in between. I attained my real estate license in Atlanta GA, back in 2013 and after a few years in sales. I decided to return home to Savannah to be closer to my family and friends. I wanted to assist them with achieving their dreams of homeownership. By motivating, encouraging, and guiding my people to homeownership and building a legacy for their future. This is my way of contributing in a positive manner to our community.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
As a member of this community and Georgia Realtor, I was in search of a way to interact with the people in the community on a regular basis. I used laughter and the love for friendly competition as my inspiration to create Change My Mind Comedy. I want a way to get involved, have fun, and reach more people
Change My Mind Comedy (CMMC) started out as a comedy competition that grew into a way to promote local and on the rise comedians. Change My Mind Comedy is known locally for its competitions, complete with championship belts and the annual Terrance Miller Comedy Birthday Bash. This year we brought comedians we think you should know about, such as Christian Johnson, who performed here in February at Victory North. We also want to bring comedians that haven’t been here before or haven’t visited in a while to our stage.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The one book that impacted me the most was Gary Keller’s “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent”, this book taught me about time management and how to set realistic goals. I also listened to motivational videos on YouTube daily, some of my favorite speakers are Eric Thomas and Abraham Hicks.
