Nashaunda, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?

Jeremy Law is my hero and my husband. I have learned to stop doubting myself and to keep thriving for success. Jeremy is an architectural civil engineer who has done nothing but contribute to bringing my visions and dreams to life. I met Jeremy working in the nursing field and we soley were only friends at this time. I told Jeremy about my first business venture which was my home care agency called Life Changes Home Care LLC and he was excited and made himself very available to assist me with opening it up and running it efficiently. Jeremy did not ask for a dime , but i insisted to show my appreciation. Jeremy has always wanted to have his own property management company to utilize his skill set. When we met, it felt like fate for us to help each other get to where we were trying to get too. Each ideal I have today, Jeremy brings it to life for me. I really appreciate his passion for work and love for helping people.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Nashaunda Law and I am a ton of fun, openminded and great listener. I enjoy people old, young, or middle age. I chose to open up a restaurant because I enjoy feeding people and putting a smile on someone’s face. Everyone loves to eat and it is mandatory to survive.

Bossladys Famous Shrimp contributes to community interactions, eating healthy and lite, entertainment , and laughter during your visit. We provide you with a very hands on experience and love to hear our customers feedback in person to help us make changes for the better. We cater to our true shrimp lovers here at Bossladys Famous Shrimp. Our customers who really want us to stay around, give us honest feedback with the chance to change or add things as needed to ensure we become a pillar in our local community.

I am most proud of being able to make most of our customers day and still have time to interact with my customers personally. What sets Bossladys Famous Shrimp apart is the employee perks we offer to dedicated employees as well as our VIP membership to customers, entertainment for customers, and opportunities given to local artists to be heard by their local community for free. We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Bossladys Famous Shrimp first brick and mortar location was at the Independence Center in Missouri and it did not make it pass a year. We had many bumps in the road such as lack of communication with management, roofing issues, lack of funds and marketing issues within our location. This took a true toll on me. I couldn’t get the marketing team to add me on any of the directories in store or online to let people know that we were in the mall. I was told to put my kids on the backburner because there requirements for me to be open was 7 days a week open to close. This made it hard for me to get sick, to do birthday parties or even holidays with my 6 children because as a business owner I still was not allowed to make my own hours that worked for my lifestyle. This didn’t stop our show! We made it work, even if we had to have our kids at the restaurant we wanted to be in compliance in all aspects of our contract. There were more walls being put up to stop our success but not by our customers, by our landlord. Finding staff to work in the mall after a shooting wasnt the easiest thing to do, so it became a family ran business which wasn’t our intentions at all. We stayed and did our best until they ask us to leave for their own personal agenda. Now we had 30 days to get out after investing almost $500,000 and wiping our bank accounts clean to make this happen. We didnt let this stop Bossladys Famous Shrimp from happening. We found a new location and have struggled to get it off the ground but things are slowly coming back together. I’m not giving up, until my health says so or the industry itself no longer shows Bossladys Famous Shrimp any love.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new customers for Bossladys Famous Shrimp is word of mouth. We have used the news, radio stations, postcards, direct mailing, billboards, social media. When we ask customers how they heard about us majority of them say facebook or someone they know told them about us.
