Hi Casilda , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.

Outside of unionized shoots, freelance Production lacks an industry standard of worker’s rights. I am a strong defendant in placing the crew’s well-being forth in any budget. Offering up-to-date rates, safety rides for longer commutes, and guaranteed overtime if necessary. My hot take is that since the Production team call time is typically earlier than anyone else’s, all PAs should first eat before starting with their day of work.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

As a kid, I always wanted to be an “inventor,” dreaming of building a village made of only wood – but maths quickly got in the way. Growing up, I could never choose what I wanted to become and I still don’t. That’s how I landed on Creative Production, where opportunities are boundless. In Production, anything you creatively dream can be answered through a logistical approach, making art happen. Devoting myself to thought-provoking work, both visually and intellectually stimulating, to fight meaningless doom scrolling in a content overload world.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

More work doesn’t always lead to better work. I don’t regret taking as many jobs as I did that came my way earlier in my career. Nonetheless, the burnout that can arise from oversaturation is far more detrimental than being selective when picking out your clients. Sometimes this stops you from performing your best on a given shoot.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Originality continues to drive me to believe that meaningful work can be curated through Creative Production. Always be on the lookout for emerging production companies that are rethinking how to creatively answer commercial campaigns.
