Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julian Tejeda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Julian thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think in order to be successful you have to be willing to work any and all positions in your chosen industry. The best workers are those who will take on any task and not think they are above anything. For me personally, I love every job that is involved in filmmaking! It’s a cool experience to go from being a production assistant on one project to a director on another.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Julian Tejeda and I am a filmmaker/composer based in Dallas, Texas! I got my start in the local industry when I was 17 and worked on an independent film in which I wrote, acted, produced, and composed the soundtrack for. I am now in the midst of rebranding my production company “Out Of Touch Productions” and working on producing more content for it!
Under this company I’ve made two short films completely by myself, one of them going on to win two awards at a film festival and hit over 75K views on YouTube! My latest short film is called CLOSET and is about A young boy who encounters an entity that has been hiding in his closet.
As of recently, I composed the soundtrack to a short film shot in the U.K. entitled “FLESHPUNK” which was written and directed by a good film friend of mine, Caylem Scott and produced by an extremely talented cast & crew. Score composing is one of my favorite aspects of filmmaking and I love when someone trusts me to bring the vision of their film to life with my music!

Have you ever had to pivot?
The past two years were a true pivot away from the arts for me.. I realized I needed to take a step back and stop forcing myself to try to come up with something new and focus on my own well being. If you don’t have the motivation for something it’s never wise to continue to force it.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I wish I had a more pretentious answer but as of now the goal for my creative journey is to create things that make Me happy, hopefully along the way other people like those things.
