Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Quincee Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Quincee, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents are so amazing. The biggest thing I feel my parents did right, was sacrificed their own needs mentally and emotionally. As well as making sure the family had open communication. My mom and dad taught us to speak up for ourselves, come to them whenever my siblings and I felt it was needed and no matter what we ever did, they would support and Love us unconditionally. This has impacted my life positively by allowing my family to be close and strong bonded. I have so many questions and lessons to learn about life and my parents are my “survival guide”. I’m very blessed to have 2 supportive and caring parents. I do take them for granted sometimes but I am beyond grateful for them. So for that to be said, My Mom and Dad are strong in every way and they encourage me to do better, be smarter, work harder, and learn from their mistakes. I was always told, “Be a good person and always humble because so many people are not as fortunate in life.”
Now how they’ve impacted my career, my mom is a big factor in that. I always was interested in modeling and acting. I took theater for 3 years in high school and walked in our school fashion show. My mom pushed me more into modeling and helped me gain the confidence to at-least try it out. she knew a lady who was a photographer and she set up a shoot date for us. Next thing I know, I’m modeling dresses and swim suites, learning more about comp cards and poses ect. And ever since that day, I fell in love with modeling and began to take it serious. I’ve been modeling on and off since 2016 and I’d really love to become a model coach. I’d like to teach the walk, posture, and etiquette of modeling. Some other things too but who knows, maybe one day. As for now, I truely enjoy walking in fashion shows and getting more creative with my photoshoot themes. I am in the process of working on my brand development and both parents are very supportive of everything I aspire to do in life. I love them dearly.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, my name is Quincee, I am born and raised in Las Vegas and I am a model. My interest in modeling started when I was a little girl about 4-5 years old. My grandmother was a model and Id see some beautiful photos of her and I wanted to do what she did. I would put on little fashion shows for my mom and walk in my little kitten heels she bought for me and I would get sheets, blankets and oversize clothing to use as my outfits. I’d fold them around and over me to make dresses and skirts and I’d do my little strut up and down the hall way. When I got a little older I would watch Americas next top model a lot and I did a fashion show in high school along with my first few photoshoots to build my comp card. I began working with companies who help with model development and walked in my first real fashion show at 18. Throughout my modeling journey I’ve learned a lot about the people in the industry, what to look out for, and to really focus on what type(s) of modeling Im more into. I really enjoy print, high fashion and runway modeling. Whatever I end up doing with modeling, I want to make sure a story is told and let people see that modeling is really a form of art and expression. It’s more than just “taking a picture.” I want my brand to be powerful, encouraging, relatable and humble.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I feel like to really succeed in modeling, You have to be very strong minded and put yourself out there as much as possible. Don’t worry about getting paid gigs right away just be patient, get your craft down and do research on agencies. It’s very beneficial if you can travel and do some modeling in different states/cities. The more people in the industry you know, the better. Don’t do anything you’re uncomfortable with and don’t be scared to lay out your boundaries. Do the labor, Know your worth and soon you and your work will be recognized and you begin to get paid for something you enjoy doing.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back I would not change my “specialty”. I would change how I went about certain things in the process of progressing in the modeling industry. I also took a break from modeling to make sure I’m still doing it for my initial reasons, and to make sure that it is some thing that I want to have as a major part of my life. I truely enjoy walking the runway and modeling beautiful garments and peoples visions. I’m now working on my next steps to level up.
