We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Artisa Felder. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Artisa below.
Artisa , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
Trying to heal from the end of a relationship and after the birth of my daughter, I was lost and trying to find my way in a lane I was extremely new to and no matter how much I thought I was prepared; I was not prepared for the emotions, past trauma, and feelings that were running in a loop in my mind. After praying for peace and understanding the idea to create a journal dropped in my spirit and from there You Are by Artisa Marie and Alonni Camille was born. Creating journals opened the door for me to release the old ways of thinking about past experiences and see things from a different perspective.
Some people carry around pain behind their smiles. You never know what a person may be going through. Having a journal to pour out your heart and soul is therapeutic and essential to improving your mental health, goal setting, goal tracking, find inspiration, reduce stress, reduce anxiety, and gain self-confidence. People need their cups filled, positive reinforcement, encouragement and hope, and our journals provide that. One of my favorite sayings is you may not be responsible for the hurt, but you are responsible for the healing. Somethings things are worth more than money, and helping others achieve true happiness and healing is priceless.

Artisa , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Artisa Felder, a devoted mother, International Best-Selling Author, Business Owner, Speaker, and an Advocate. Needing a way to channel my inner thoughts and feelings, I discovered journaling. After I saw how beneficial it was to my overall mental health it inspired me to create You Are by Artisa Marie and Alonni Camille. The line of journals is centered around building self-esteem and self-confidence in women, men, and children with the use of affirmations, showing gratitude, journal prompts, and free thinking.
Our journals allow you to release the things you may not be able to release verbally, the journal prompts challenge you to dig deep, and push passed your comfort zone and really dive deep into how you are feeling physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. What sets us apart is that we are passionate about wanting others to heal and release the things that are holding them back from being the best versions of themselves. Knowing first-hand how journaling can change a person’s overall perspective online pushes us to continue to strive to make journals that are helpful, encouraging, and uplifting.
The thing that I am most proud of is creating a business that I can share with my legacy, my daughter can watch me create journals and workbooks that are helpful to people all over the world and she will one day be able to do the same. We want new customers and followers to know that they will be encouraged, uplifted, and their cups will be filled.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for You Are by Artisa Marie and Alonni Camillie would be the monthly journal challenges on Facebook. The last week of every month we engage with our followers by offering a 5-day journal challenge. We post a different journal prompt and encourage our followers to respond in the comments, direct messages, or write the responses in their journals, we have journal giveaways occasionally by randomly selecting participants from the journal challenges.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to foster a trauma free environment that teaches my daughter how to regulate her emotions, and not be held captive by her thoughts and her feelings. Change is incremental, it starts with one person choosing to think differently and lighting a torch for others to carry. Eventually we will have more people in the world that are in-tuned with the empathetic side of their emotions and not just the ones that create habits that bring harm to others.
