Alright, Brandie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
In 2019 I was an accounting office manager for a pool service that wasn’t paying me my worth. I ran the company so well, the owners would leave the business for weeks at a time. After months of me not being happy with my pay, I decided that I wanted to have an extra stream of income to pay my bills. I began to clean homes after work through an app where I was my own boss. I did a great deal of research on cleaning services, how much they made, supplies, equipment etc. Afterwards, I came to the conclusion that if I could run someone else’s company, I could run my own. September 2020, I went into work and put in my two week notice. The owners of the company that I worked for were devastated by the news of me resigning. After my two weeks were up I went home, applied for my business license and began my very own residential and commercial cleaning service, Cleaning Beyond Your Expertise LLC.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Brandie Davis. I am a twenty-five year old business owner of a residential and commercial cleaning service called Cleaning Beyond Your Expertise LLC. My company strives to take the pressure of cleaning off of our clients hands so they will have more free time doing whatever they love doing the most. Our goal is to leave a smile on their face! We genuinely care about each client and show them in many ways. Our company has given gifts, attended children’s school events and memorial services for our clients who have passed. We make sure we go Beyond the expectations of a regular cleaning service and make every client’s experience personal.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth is the fastest way to grow any business. I make sure my company does an exceptional job for each of our clients. When a service is done well people are definitely going to share their great experience with others. That is the fastest way that I grew my clientele.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
All of my clients can collectively say that I have a great amount of integrity, loyalty, compassion, respect, and understanding. My consistency with these characteristics has helped me build a positive reputation.
