We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Darya Pribytkovsky. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Darya below.
Darya, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I’d probably start with the fact that I am an aesthete by nature. I admire beautiful spaces, music and art. The idea came when I was searching for some light and airy places to take my kids to. Most of the children’s playgrounds had primary colors and were louder than I would have enjoyed with my young children. I started dreaming of a space that would look very light an airy. Something that would not only be educational and fascinating for children to play in, but also be a place where parents would enjoy spending time. It seemed impossible to me at the moment, however I decided I’d write a business plan, gather my ideas and see where it goes. It took me about six months from the idea to taking the first step and starting to look for a building. About a month later we were able to find a building that was perfect and couple of months later we got a green light from the city. I think the process and buildout were some of the hardest moments of the five years we’ve been in business. My husband fully curated the buildout and dad’s background in custom interior designs came in handy. We’ve put in weeks prior and many more hours of work after the grand opening into building out Little Kingdom. As the result people that came in were admiring every play corer. At our grand opening, children didn’t want to leave home and we knew this would be a beloved place for many young children and their parents.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a mother of three beautiful girls and a wife. Five years ago I founded Little Kingdom Playroom. The business idea was inspired by motherhood. The playroom is mainly for young kids between ages of one and 8 eight years old. Our party room accommodates up to 60 people. When we were coming back to business after Covid, I started getting more and more requests to have decorated parties at our facility. Slowly our VIP package became our most popular one. It’s a package that provides private access to our venue and themed decorations. People love this service the most since they can have a beautiful party without being a decorator or hiring a big team of professionals that would usually break the bank. I personally love creating for my costumers and their kids. Each party is unique and beautiful.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
It’s definitely providing the best possible service to our existing clients. People will always share with their family and friends whether they loved a business or they didn’t. When we’re hosting parties, our customers will usually post on social media and they friends will book with us as well.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
We’ve tried paid ads when we first started and it might work for others, but for us it’s always been our customers that brough in new customers. Also social media and consistently posting our work has been quite helpfil.
