We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Newsome a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jessica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later

Honestly I feel like the Lord’s timing for my business was just right. He knew I longed for something creative in my life and His timing was perfect!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I just had my first baby the summer of 2018. Six months before that I had been praying for the Lord to give me an entrepreneurship idea. It was at my sister’s wedding that her photographer caught my eye. I immediately went home, bought a camera and used my daughter as my first model. She was always smiling and camera ready, even 5 years later! Although she was so good at modeling the first year of her life, I quickly realized solely newborns were not for me! Ha. I then fell in love with wedding photography and have learned so much over the years. I had another baby, as well as a full time job, but I knew in my heart that I wanted to do photography full time. 5 years later I finally stepped out on faith and quit my day job to give my all to what I love!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Building a great reputation in ANY industry is so so important. For me, it’s all about client experience! Building a great reputation involves being reliable, delivering quality work, and maintaining positive interactions with others. Consistency, integrity and effective communication are key elements in establishing and sustaining a strong reputation.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?

As of 2023 I have added on another business! When I was ready to leave my full time job at the beginning of the year, I was praying that the Lord would give me another entrepreneurship idea. It hit me… A Photo Booth! I began Snapshot Savvy Photo Booth and have LOVED every minute of it and I am so excited to see where it goes!
