We were lucky to catch up with Chonies recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chonies, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
My life changed in 2020 along with the rest of the world.
I have been working in the Medical Field most of my life and my job Pre- Pandemic was at a fertility center.
I loved my job so much, that they requested for me to stay on board on a skeleton crew while the whole world was shutting down.
A month in I received a call that my partner fell from his job site and he was temporarily disabled .I had to take on the responsibility of being his caregiver while working from home.
Since I was 15 years old I was always fascinated by the beauty industry that I used to do everyone’s hair & makeup.
Covid had every beauty salon shut down.
So I bought supplies to do my own nails and eventually got many inquiries but only started with my friends and family.
It was not until 2021.
I reacted out too my favorite LA female Rapper Vel Nine and asked if I can do her Birthday nails. Ever since, I have done countless of her fans and friends that turned into family.
I took a leap in faith and quit my job and now I work for myself and I couldn’t be happier with how things shaped this new journey that I can create with others on a daily basis.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After providing a service, my clients leave happy and speak my name in a room when I’m not around is a reminder that I’m doing what I’m supposed to do!
I enjoy creating memories with my clients we all learn through each others experiences.
What sets me apart from
Others in this nail world is my hospitality I know from a personal experience I wish I had a nail tech like me. 🤭🤪

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing is seeing what we created together!
I LOVE watching my Nails in motion in music videos & nailfies.
Or when the girlies/gays link up and they are ALL wearing my nails showing off for me! 🥲
I started calling my clients Chonies Angels because they are all walks of life and come to see me from near and far.
It’s a great feeling having clients from around the world with my art on their nails.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I’d like to think I’m a shy person and I love the idea of going out and networking, but I’m really a homebody.
I would have never reached out to anyone in regards to me doing their nails. So I’m glad I spoke up and gained the people I have in my life today! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for my brand!
