We were lucky to catch up with Nell Alexander recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nell, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
One of the things I appreciate the most about my parents was how I was raised growing up as a child, to the man I am now. They taught me the key values of prayer, respect, hard work, and persistency in which I’ve experienced many situations where all 4 had to come into play. I remember when I was around 7/8 years old, my dad would always take me to the gym with him every Sunday and I would watch him play with the older guys, wishing I could play with them. It forced me to work on my skills, and overall game in which I knew if I kept at it I would be able to eventually play against them when the opportunity presented itself, and I transferred that same theory to life and the business world as well.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
First and foremost, I hope this finds everyone doing well, so I invested in a natural skin/body product company called Lucky’s Oil with my childhood friend, more like my brother, Kaleif “Lucky” Gaines. We partnered together early May of this year (2023) and have been taking the market by storm ever since & have begun to start selling essential natural soaps, body butters, hair growth oils & skin oils with more additional products in the near future. We have great quality for more than affordable prices starting from $6 to no more than $25 for each product. Again, all ingredients are natural, and we keep everything on hand as well as online at a limited supply. The website at the moment is under construction (luckysoil.us) but will be back up by the end of this week or next week for certain. I also have a discounted code for everyone to use (NELLDWA) for the website that gives an automatic 10% off, followed with every size to meet any financial situation. What sets us apart from others is that our services are available after hours, unlike other companies & we keep all ingredients natural with absolutely no chemical/harmful substances that will damage or affect the skin/body in any manner. As I hinted to it prior, one of our main goals is to always produce quality products for a reasonable price. I’m also a Brand Ambassador for 2 well known and upcoming luxury streetwear clothing brands, Money Intangibles & Clubhouse. Both offer different and versatile styles for any street fashion look that you could have in mind from, shirts, jackets/coats, jeans, sweatpants, to chest rigs and even small purses for the women. Lastly I am the manager of rap artist FlashyWes of SkateTeam Entertainment, who is also another up and coming figure in the Midwest who is know for his creative punchlines and authenticity in his music. If you haven’t heard of me now you will soon enough in due time.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I would have to go with social media & in person interaction. I’ve used different platforms from instagram, Twitter/X and Facebook too reach out to people and broadcast all that I have to offer.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My personality, and just being myself. The way that I approach everything allows people to genuinely reach different audiences and clientele that also likes the person/people that is behind the products.
