We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kristophe Zephyrin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kristophe thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
So the process for starting my business actually started way before I actually knew what I was going to do. I started taking pictures for events and modeling on my college campus. I was taking landscape photography, doing event planning, and filling other roles on campus and my creative side kind of was shown in all of those roles. as my college career was ending and I was getting close to graduating,I realized that the best case for me to continue with these creative outlets ;doing events, photography, design and more, was to establish some sort of business entity. So I understood I needed to establish a business and initially it was gonna focus on just photography but my skills and what I wanted to do expanded a little bit broader than that. I really had to figure out what my scope is going to be because the world is literally my oyster And I wanted to make sure that I had goals and objectives that I could actually execute onOver time and as I became more well-versed by seeing the different types of creative business that were out there I was able to consolidate my scope, and focus on the things that I felt were most important for what I wanted my business to be

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I developed my business by attempting to encompass my creative and professional interests all in one. From my experience as an event organizer, mentor, and community leader in a collegiate space I believe my business focus is quite transdisciplinary. Currently I work mainly in photography, videography, and content creation but my main goal is to be able to give clients of all sizes direction and advice to ensure that their creative endeavors can be executed. This sounds pretty vague and broad, but ideally this allows me to provide clients with event planning, creative direction, merchandising, marketing services and more! Anything that could help them in their journey to success. I bring new ideas and strategies to the table that allow my clients to reach new heights. My systematic view of creative strategies and business is my unique skill that bridges the gap between creativity and business. I use my “multiple hats” to bring new perspectives to issues and provide to solutions to problems of all shapes and sizes. My clientele includes everything under the sun, from freelance artists & photographers to organizations in a corporate and collegiate setting

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by diversity. This stems from my experiences, knowledge, culture & more and the personal value I’ve seen from experiencing diversity from multiple points of view.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a “creative” is the value it gives to the industry that I work in. The engineering industry isn’t known as the most creative, but through KNZ I’m given an outlet to build, create and reimagine the world around me.
