In June of 2018, Dantes signed with Sony Music Entertainment. Under Sony, Dantes released his debut EP “meristem.” The extended play was spearheaded by the single “GREENHOUSE,” produced by multi-Grammy award winner !llmind. The papercraft animated music video for “GREENHOUSE” was created by Stefano Bertelli, the award-winning director behind Frank Sinatra’s “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! For the months (fine, years) that I was working on my proposal for my nonfiction book This Is Where You Belong: Finding Home Wherever You Are, I obsessively thought about agents. I knew I wanted a traditional publisher if I could manage it, and I knew that agents were the magic door to that world—and that’s about all I knew. I signed with my first agent a month after I graduated college. I was introduced to the agency by a classmate of mine who was already signed with them and was traveling to Wilmington on the weekends to film small projects here and there.
