We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nicole Huffman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Showing clients you appreciate them is something I think most folks want to do – but it’s not always clear how to do it in a meaningful way. What’s one of the best examples of client appreciation you can share with us?
As a business coach (one-on-one and group coaching), I recently surprised 10 of my clients with a celebration night out. In coaching, I share to always celebrate yourself for the things you’ve accomplished. I texted everyone and shared with the that I needed them to meet me and gave them a date, time and location. Once they arrived weeks later they still didn’t know why we were there until I started talking. As I spoke, I reminded them that I share 3 things with them: 1) organize your to-do list 2) plan to-do’s to have daily wins and 3) always celebrate. So I opened a bottle of wine and celebrated them all for working hard, getting their tasks done and their wins. I wanted them to feel celebration and to take in the moment. They were excited and happy and they trusted me enough to meet me with no details.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a mother, wife, grandmother and a cancer survivor. I am a passionate advocate, a creative soul and a dedicated coach. I am committed to empowering individuals to reach their full potential. I find immense fulfilment in helping others discover their strengths and achieve their goals.
My journey of crafting and helping others began over 25 years ago. Creativity is an essential part of who I am.
When my parents were celebrated a significant wedding anniversary I wanted to give a gift that would last a lifetime. I learned the art of scrapbooking and shared their favorite memories. From this moment, I began to scrapbook, make handmade cards and other personalized products as gifts.
I assist clients with organizing and building their business. I have proven strategies to help streamline tasks, develop a daily win list and focus on what trust matters with less stress. I empower them to effectively manage their workload and maintain a healthy work life balance.
What sets me apart from others is my coaching style to be in tune with their goals as if they were mine, taking the journey with them but also teaching tools that can continue to help them long after being their coach.
I am most proud of the reward in seeing my clients reach their goals. Taking their ideas and pushing them to completion makes me smile. I am also proud of the personalized products we create. Our products are to uplift, encourage and support. This happens through our personalized journals, t-shirts and glassware.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
My clients are very important to me. I always want them to know that outside of our coaching/coachee relationship, I am always here for them. If they struggle, it’s not because they could not reach out to me. It’s important to me to maintain this type of relationship. Even when they are not reaching out to me, I am reaching out to them. I keep in touch with them through text, emails and having a social media presence.
I create relationships with my coachee so that they will always want to come back and learn, grow and stay connected.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My business partner is my husband. He has always been supportive of everything I do even when I was just crafting. He continuously encourages me throughout the process and the advice he gives me always pushes me to get it done or pull back from things that don’t serve a purpose. It’s true when they say, if you marry and entrepreneur you automatically become one yourself lol He has not take this role lightly and I am grateful. We met in the classroom of our master’s classroom. One flirt across the classroom led to us celebrating 7 years marriage this past August.
