Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Will Carpenter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dr. Will, thanks for joining us today. How did you get your first job in the field that you practice in today?
After graduation, I worked as an integrated pain management physician, where I specialized in treating difficult cases in tangent with a medical staff. This made me get a true and better understanding of the medical system and allopathic approach to just treating symptoms. This lead to me opening my clinic to correct conditions at its root cause versus just masking symptoms.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I grew up in the St. Louis area, always leading an active lifestyle and playing many sports. This kickstarted my passion for human performance, nutrition and wellness. I attended the University of Missouri Columbia. There, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology and spent time as a student athletic trainer with Mizzou’s football team and also was a personal trainer. After graduation, I earned my Doctorate in Chiropractic as well and Masters Degree in Sports Rehabilitation. I then worked on my Board Certification in Neuropathy from the American College of Physical Medicine. I believe my experience and training has allowed me to successfully handle some of the most diverse cases with neurologically based, corrective chiropractic care as well as adjunct therapies.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe the most important thing you can do to further not only your personal growth, but to be able to give the community the best service possible, is to constantly be a student. I think it’s vital to be hungry to continually learn and have a passion for reading and research. Not only patients will get better results, they will ultimately be happier.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The best way to grow your patient base is referrals, by far. If you can gain trust from patients by providing great results, you have a step up on gaining a new patients trust versus a ‘cold lead’. This comes back to providing the best, most ethical, and innovative approach to positive patient outcomes, in combination with an unforgettable customer service experience.
