We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nadine Nicola Green. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nadine Nicola below.
Nadine Nicola , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
I spent 18 years as a Skilled Nursing Facility Social Services Director. I always went above and beyond the job requirements because of my love for people and my passion to help God’s people. Eventually it became painfully obvious that my dedication was being exploited for the “good” of the company but to my own personal demise. I was becoming mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually drained, My burnout at work began to negatively affect my personal life also. Eventually I learned to find the necessary balance between my passion and avoiding burnout. This lesson reminds me to always set boundaries professionally and personally in all of my relationships with others. I manage my professional and business lives through balance brought by boundaries, expressing my requirements and practicing my strong belief that we have the answers to solve our own problems. Life is the constant teacher and it’s up to us to learn the lessons. I’m so grateful to have learned that lesson before becoming a Business Owner.

Nadine Nicola , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have always been “the helper.” After experiencing childhood trauma based on loss and abrupt transitions, The need to address Mental Health and be a Mental Health Champion became my calling. So naturally I gravitated towards Mental Health and Social Services in my career path. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Psychology, I decided to obtain my Masers in Social Worker to broaden my skillset and to make more impact in my career. I suffered a lot of personal and professional losses during the COVID 19 Pandemic and worked through the loss of my residents, some of our staff, resident families and my dad who was my hero. After some soul searching, I decided to take a much needed exit from working in Skilled Nursing Facilities August 2021, I remained unemployed for 6 months while mentally and emotionally preparing for my next move. I started addressing the stress and trauma brought on by new losses and new abrupt transitions I’d experienced personally and professionally. After 6 months, I received the opportunity to begin working as a Clinician in a Behavioral Health clinic, I started strategically implementing my plan to create opportunities for myself and others to start healing. I became a Best-Selling Author as a Co-Author on the Blessed Not Broken book anthology, Volume 5: When Being Strong Is All You Know. I started my Wellness Coaching Business: Access GREENADINE LLC, obtained my Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker and am looking forward to opening my Group Practice in the near future. My chapter in the book is God’s Love is Self-Love and that’s what I help people explore, learn and practice, through reading my book and Keynote Speaking, Coaching, Counseling or Consultant services. I am so honored and proud to be a part of each client’s journey as they learn to help or heal themselves to thrive and operate in their authentic and unapologetic truth!

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I believe I would be in the same profession because I honestly know that Counseling and Coaching chose me! I have always been altruistic, believing that “each one teach one.” Having a career where I am teaching others to heal and help themselves is my purpose! I am a living example of how it feels to do what I love because it does not feel like “work.”

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I embrace each new client with a strength-based mindset. So when I listen to their issues, I ALWAYS hear opportunity for them to Access their own Growth, Resilience, Empowerment and Elevation, by Nurturing Autonomy to Develop Intentional Narratives for Efficacy! Access GREENADINE LLC was developed to teach people how to heal and help themselves live life healthily ever after! I encourage and empower people to tap into their own strengths. Clients want to be heard and helped. I am very skilled at actively listening so that I can hear what is needed to empower, equip and encourage by clients!
