Shaylin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The collection I’ve named, Awakening, is a testament to my personal journey of self-discovery and transformation. In its creation, I discovered the inner child within me, embracing pure bliss and joy as I followed my heart’s desires. My artistic process has become a form of meditation through the act of painting. I aspire to extend this healing to others, hoping to change the world by helping people recognize the beauty within their own souls and awaken to the profound truth of happiness that resides within them.

My journey with this collection began in 2021. My art is unique as it has the power to evoke magic within each viewer, facilitating healing of their inner child and a celebration of their resilience in the face of life’s trials.

Shaylin McEwen’s journey as an artist has been profoundly influenced by the abstract expressionism movement, as she draws inspiration from the bold, unbridled emotions and spontaneous creativity within it. Shaylin holds a degree in Psychology and has a background in UX/UI design. Over the past five years, she has worked in marketing and UX/UI design roles. Art has played an integral part in her personal healing journey, serving as a medium through which she discovered solace, inspiration, and profound self-discovery. As well as a certified meditation instructor and mindful arts meditation teacher, Shaylin brings a unique blend of spirituality and creativity to her work. Her passion for healing and kindling the spark of joy within each of her customers is at the core of her artistic mission. Through her art, she seeks to touch hearts, evoke emotions, and inspire personal transformation.
Shaylin’s love for art was ignited in her childhood, an era when she discovered that creativity flowed effortlessly through her veins. Anything that bore the mark of creativity fascinated her, and she nurtured this passion throughout her life.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

The mission driving Shaylin M’s creative journey as an artist is centered on inspiring others to find their passion, chase their dreams, and discover true peace within on a daily basis. The overarching goal is to serve as a catalyst for personal and emotional growth through the transformative power of art. Shaylin M seeks to motivate others to pursue their own goals, overcome obstacles, and take meaningful steps toward turning their dreams into reality.Shaylin M’s artwork is not only an expression of personal emotions but also a tool for viewers to connect with their own inner selves. The goal is to offer a visual and emotional experience that facilitates moments of reflection and tranquility amid life’s challenges.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

The resources Shaylin M wished she knew to just start her Art business when she completed high-school, she wished she acted on the passion she had from a child. In terms of resources, Shaylin wished she new more about understanding the business side of art is crucial. Specifically, resources in pricing and art business management would have be beneficial. In addition, having a mentor in the art industry could have helped provide personalized guidance, constructive feedback, and insights based on the mentors experiences.
