We were lucky to catch up with Brandy & Chris Diamond recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandy & Chris , thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The idea was to shape the show as two friends sitting down and discussing a true crime case. Of course when two people are talking over a nice meal, they might be sharing a bottle of wine. That’s how Texas Wine & True Crime was born,
We started building relationships with Texas wineries, and have been so blessed to meet some of the coolest winemakers from the south, but we get to share their wine on our show.
It just so happens later on in the process, Chris, was able to bring these dishes to life and we started pairing the wine with food. It’s become a win-win for us and our listeners!

Brandy & Chris , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Chris and I are a married couple born and raised in Texas. We both have full-time careers outside of our show. During Covid, my company shut its doors in Texas. After the lay off, and being a workaholic by nature, I decided to start the podcast.
Here we sit, having just celebrated the 3-year anniversary of the show, reflecting on what this little hobby has turned into for us.
We have been listed in the Dallas Observer as Best Podcast in Dallas 2023. The Dallas Morning News wrote an article about us. We have done live shows at some of the coolest places in Texas. We get to interview some of the best authors, journalists, winemakers, police officers, and so much more.
The best part, and our favorite part, is seeking justice or shining light on the cases we cover. This show is about representing the victims, survivors, and the families that feel this tragedy in their daily lives. Chris and I understand that feeling of loss in our daily lives on a personal level. Even though the circumstances of the cases are different, at the end of the day, we are all human and grief is real. Sometimes too real. We want to represent the understanding of this pain and the call to action for answers. It’s important to us their name is heard and that we will never stop fighting for justice for those that seek it the most.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes! Newspapers.com and finding mentors in the podcasting world. Both have changed the course of our research and the ever-evolving scope and mission of the show. Podcasts are like anything else you do in your life, tweaks and change are necessary!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The loss of our son. When I said grief is real, it’s real! I think we channel this underlying understanding of grief by talking and sharing. Everyone has a story, but it’s up to us to share that story because you never know who you will help or inspire.
