We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ace The Rapper a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ace, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Everything I learned about making music and the industry in general, has either been self taught or from networking. There’s a lot of information that’s easily accessible that can help anyone on their relative journey. Music is about connections and networking is a big part of that. Taking the time to surround yourself by other creatives will help you pick things up easier, and promote growth.

Ace, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Music Artist born and raised in South Georgia. My goal when making music is to create an experience for my audience. I want to take them on a journey through my mind, using my past as a guide. I know how easy it is to feel like you going through something by yourself, so I aim to let people know their not alone. I’ve been surrounded by music my entire life and initially started recording songs as a form of therapy. One of my closest friends convinced me to release some music and it’s been nonstop ever sense. I’m proud of the impact I’ve been able to have on some peoples lives. I love hearing how my music affected someone/got someone through something.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The positive impact I’m able to have on others. Like I said, I initially started making music for myself. After seeing how it affected the people around me, it pushed me to keep creating. My brother, Cam Hay, was already making music and he convinced me to start dropping what I had. It’s been up from there. But that’s when I feel most fulfilled, when someone else can relate.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My family is my main focus. Making sure everybody can truly live freely. They always been there for me, failures and all. I’m just trying to return the favor. Other then that I want to go down as one of the best to do it. I always been competitive and I’m not settling for nothing less.
