We recently connected with Britney Moon and have shared our conversation below.

Britney , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It has just passed the 3 year mark since my life started changing. November 2020 I had to have a hysterectomy due to having endometriosis. I’m not sure what exactly changed but it felt like a switch flipped. I wanted to start doing things more naturally. I got off ALL my medications and started to naturally heal myself. (*******I do NOT recommend doing this without talking to your doctor.**********) Medication was never a long term solution for me and my doctors all knew that. So after the surgery I dove into natural healing. I started small. I started with what I had on hand or what I could go and forage. My very first herbal thing I made was Dandelion Salve. To this day it is still my favorite.

Fast forward to Aug/Sept 2023… I’m running my business Witches Locs & Knots LLC. It was going decent. I started to not to like making locs anymore. My heart wasn’t in it so I started to focus my attention on what was calling to me.

Which was making salves, sprays, tinctures, body butters, oils, you name it. Helping heal someone with something 100% natural gets me everytime.

So that is when The Holistic Moon LLC came into the picture. August 2023 the creation was forming. October 2023 is when it became a reality. I am really doing this. 

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

As a little kid I was always making “potions” and was out playing in the woods foraging for things that would catch my attention. Now that I am 34 years young with 4 children of my own, I still make “potions” and I still play out in the woods and forage for things that catch my attention. Hello everyone, I’m Britney. Owner of The Holistic Moon LLC and Witches Locs & Knots LLC. I started The Holistic Moon LLC because I wanted to share what I was making with others. If my kids love what I make then I know others will too. (Now mind you, my kids are ages 10-15 so that means if mom makes it we don’t like it.) They LOVE it though.

The Holistic Moon LLC has 4 products at the moment. Moons Oil, Magnesium Spray, Magnesium Body Butter with Vitamin D, and Bath Salts.

There is alot more in the works. So stay tuned.

What sets me apart from others in this same field is myself and the mentor that I have. We are all different so we are going to have different things to offer and different looks. Other than that we are all out here achieving what we have set out to do. And that’s to help others heal.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?

I have a store on my website where I make my sales. I do quite a few in-person sales as well. Since I am just starting out I plan to keep it this way for at least the first year.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

How I met my Mentor. (Doc. Martin)

My husband worked at a mechanic shop a few houses down from where we lived. My mentor needed work done on his vehicle. Him and my husband got to talking about what he did for a living. Nick (my husband) had told my mentor that him and I share the same interests. We had met and then life happened. We all got busy.

Fast forward to October 2023. We get in touch again. Nick and I end up going to his house. I absolutely fall in love. As soon as we pull up close to his house I notice a beautiful flower/herb garden. Nick gets done what he had to do and I’m just taking in everything I see. The little kid inside of me was screaming to just go wander around and look.

We ended up picking Calendula and just chatting about plants and all the crystals he has all over his garden. It was truly an experience I will never forget. Words can not describe the feelings that were flowing through my body while we were there…

Now I’m attending his sweat lodges and he’s joining me when I have vendor shows. Which our next one is December 16th from 11am-6pm at the Westwood Mall in Jackson MI.
Life is truly beautiful. Even when it starts to get dark. The darkness will pass.
