We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Quiet Mile . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Quiet below.
Alright, Quiet thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Mitchell Rausch, who was the founder of the band, met Wolfgang Schultz playing basketball at Santiago Canyon College. Neither of them knowing at the time they both did music. Mitchell saw wolf post some videos of him singing and invited him over to jam. They wrote their song “Things I Hated” that first jam sesh and never stopped from that day on. They put together a full band and eventually released their first single “Bad Thing” in 2020. What made us know we wanted to pursue this dream, was the feeling we got while coming up with new music and playing our first shows. We were hooked.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Wolfgang and Mitchell got into the industry during 2020 and eventually starting gigging in 2021. The band has done a lot with there original music, including having our music chosen to be in an upcoming movie. The band takes a lot of pride in our original music and would say that’s what they’re most proud of. Quiet Mile have a good local following in Orange County and regularly sees the same individuals come to shows. Along with our Instagram following and Mitchell tik tok which is at 31k followers. With the recording process there was a lot of trial an error in the beginning, but after there release of “In the City,” there most streamed song, that’s when they really got everything dialed in. What sets Quiet Mile apart from other bands is that every song out and soon to be released, they all have a unique sound, even venturing into new genres, “Gold to Stone” was a unique release that had a hint of reggae and rock.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is having people come out to see Quiet Mile perform and having many people tell us how much they love our music. “ many times when I go live on tik tok I’ll see new faces tell me how much they enjoyed listening to our music,” – Mitchell. The constant new ideas, creativity, musicianship, and overall presence is what sets Quiet Mile apart from alot of new up and coming bands.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The best way to support an artist is to listen to there music and share it to who ever they feel can appreciate it. In this day and age there’s alot of music and at times it can be hard to stand out. But with the constant support and social media presence eventually the results will start showing up.
