We recently connected with Heather Lancaster and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Heather thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
To help put humanity back into marketing. I plan to build a legacy where marketing focuses more on building connections and relationships, educating and forming the curiosity to learn, and gathering communities who share the same values and can support each other – in short, more human-to-human connection and interaction.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m passionate about helping a business better connect with their audience through a strong brand foundation – which in turn ignites more effective marketing.
When a brand is positioned to market their offerings authentically and in alignment with the right people, they’ve officially begun creating their legacy – inviting those who will continue to support and advocate on their behalf for years to come.
After a 9-year career spent marketing and branding various business models, industries, and people, I officially named Creative Heat, LLC in 2021 to help businesses do just this.
Applying a “Jill-of-all-trades” acquired set of skills, I’m able to combine strategy with creativity to develop an optimal brand experience/ customer journey for a business.
I enjoy mapping out content strategies and messaging that produce effective sales funnels and content development plans, in order to achieve the short-term (marketing) and long-term (branding) goals of various industries and business models.
With 10+ years also spent as a professional photographer, I offer a unique disposition (“eye”) to visually critique and identify the disconnect between a brand’s persona/content and its messaging, offering insightful creative and strategic direction for better brand alignment.
Layer the marketing experience on top, and you’ve got a gal who can see the big picture, plan out the steps, and then take action.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After two years in business, I learned that you’re purpose and calling (your niche) tend to find you.
It starts to unfold as you meet new people and start forming your own approach to how you create and utilize the experience/gifts you have – in the way you actually want to.
When given the choice and freedom to offer your vision and skills to others by your own design, I feel like you have no choice but to align your business model and brand to who you truly are and what you ultimately want to offer.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Storybrand by Donald Miller has helped expand my 9+ years of marketing and branding experience. His books and webinars gave me direction in my own strategic and creative approach.
If I’m being 100% honest (because that’s the authenticity we all want), this is how I realized what was missing from the marketing space as well/what we needed more of – basic human interaction and connection. No tactics. No techniques. No methods. Just authentically aligned communication and connection that invites the right people into your brand story.
