We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Holli Beth Clauser. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Holli Beth below.
Can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Hello! I’m Holli Beth Clauser, the proud owner of Behavioral Talent Consulting (BTC), and I’m excited to offer a glimpse into my journey and the unique aspects of my brand.
Behavioral Talent Consulting (BTC) is not just a business to me; it’s a passionate initiative aimed at bridging the needs of individuals with the demands of businesses. Our vision is simple but powerful: creating relatable, repeatable, and people-centric solutions that go beyond traditional recruiting consulting. We focus on crafting environments where individuals grow, teams collaborate seamlessly, and challenges become opportunities.
As a leader in the industry, I bring together my expertise in talent acquisition, human resources, training, applied behavior analysis, and improvisation skills. BTC offers a holistic approach to creating sustainable, healthy workplaces. What sets us apart is not just the proven and repeatable nature of our strategies but the added touch of personalization. We are rewriting the playbook on success in the workplace, elevating how we foster growth, nurture talent, and cultivate an environment that thrives on innovation and collaboration.
I’m honored that my work allows us to make the interview process more objective, utilize data to improve decision-making, and minimize biases. Additionally, upholding BTC’s code of conduct is a source of pride for me. Our ability to deliver unparalleled and genuinely unprecedented protection to job seekers and individuals seeking services is rooted in our values.

Holli Beth, if you could go back in time, do you wish you had started your business sooner or later?
Sure, my journey into entrepreneurship kicked off in a slightly different timeframe than you might expect. My LLC was formed in June 2022, but I officially launched my business in November 2022, and it wasn’t until February of 2023 that I hit a significant milestone by securing my first major client. 🫶🫶🫶
I can say with confidence that starting my business earlier wouldn’t have been the right move. I did have a moment of hesitation in June and opted for a more stable job with health insurance at one point. Unfortunately, that job didn’t end on the best note, and it took a toll on my well-being. However, this rough patch was a blessing in disguise. It was like a wake-up call pushing me to dive into my entrepreneurial journey.
You see, my business is all about looking out for the mental well-being and careers of professionals in specialized fields like OTs, SLPs, PTs, BCBAs, and RBTs. Essentially, giving them the career support I never had in my journey. Behavioral Talent Consulting is not your typical Hiring Firm whose goals surround putting “butts in seats”. The driving force behind what we do? Well, it’s simple: we care about people. We understand that their well-being has a ripple effect—touching not only their lives but the families they support and keeping business doors open.
Looking back, I sometimes wonder if I should’ve taken the plunge sooner. But you know what? Every hiccup and stumble I faced in my previous jobs was like a crash course preparing me for this incredible journey.
So. Here I am, loving every moment of it. The timing, the challenges, and the victories—all of it has shaped my path and I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s been an adventure and I’m grateful for every twist and turn that led me to where I am today. Life is funny that way and I definitely did not know at the time where my three decades of work would lead me.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I chuckle because navigating through the twists and turns of my life has demanded a significant amount of resilience—starting from being a non-speaking child with apraxia to establishing a business as an adult woman with autism. Resilience, to me, is not optional; it is my ongoing commitment to move forward and use my voice to help others find and use theirs.
Think about it. The most successful and resilient individuals have all weathered storms and faced challenges…Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Eminem, Helen Keller—the list goes on. Their remarkable journeys from adversity to success serve as powerful testaments to the enduring power of resilience and perseverance. I mean imagine how much longer this list could be if people’s resolve wasn’t broken?
In fact, it’s my resilience that has taught me it’s okay to fail. I choose to find value in failure, difficulties, and setbacks and embrace a growth mindset focused on improvement, not perfection.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Absolutely.
“Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High” by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler. This book has been my communication compass. It’s like having a conversation toolkit that not only helps me navigate tricky discussions but has genuinely shaped how I approach communication challenges.
“The Messy Middle: Finding Your Way Through the Hardest and Most Crucial Part of Any Bold Venture” by Scott Belsky. The insights in this book have been my entrepreneurial confidant during the tougher phases of business ownership.
My top podcast has to be “How to Be Awesome at Your Job” with Pete Mockaitis because it consistently provides insightful and actionable advice on various aspects of professional development. Those are the initial three that came to mind, excluding the guests featured on my own podcast, “WTF ABA.” They have each impacted me and the way I approach my work and personal life.
