Dmytro, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

I am very happy as a business owner! The happiest thing for me and my family is that we are here in USA. In the country of successful and rich people, in the country of small business, here you can realize any of your dreams, if you really want and work on it! Of course, I could work at a regular job and do a narrow direction in construction. But I am a jack of all trades, I can do almost anything! I know how and what can be replaced and repaired. I see the result in my head long before the work and can explain to the client ! If I had a regular job, I would be bored. But now I build and plan my every day and what I will do!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am now 51 years old and have been working in the construction industry for 30 years. Since childhood I have been interested in everything where something needs to be repaired or built. For the last few years I have lived in Ukraine and Belarus, where I have repaired and built houses. Now I regret only that I didn’t keep social networks before and didn’t film all my work. There was simply no need for it, I was known to many people and I didn’t need advertising. In the US I had to start from scratch. My first job was found in Facebook, I was offered 15$ per hour for small help around the house. Of course I agreed and went. The clients were very satisfied with me and after that another person with his company offered me 35$ per hour. I worked with him for 2 months and opened my own company. Now my hour costs 75$. Clients are getting more and more, I am recommended to friends and neighbors. Because not everyone works so quickly and qualitatively. There are very few like me. I am never late and find the best solutions for my clients. Right now I do all the work that does not require a license. But in the future I will get all the licenses I will need. The only thing stopping me now is my poor knowledge of English. I am trying to learn the language, but it is not so easy. I have only been here for 11 months and already I have a great result in everything! I am proud of myself and my family! We support each other in everything! I work together with my wife Inha, she is my best friend and helper ! We built our house, garage and bathhouse together with her in Belarus. My daughter is also very talented and capable her name is Albina. She has an art education, draws interior paintings on canvases, clothes, furniture and walls, sews carpets. We have a very hardworking, kind and talented family!

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.

To give management advice, you must first know your business perfectly !!!! Be an example for your employees! Always treat your employees as you would like them to treat you! You have to know and love your job !

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I started social media 8 months ago. To be more precise, my daughter and my wife do it. My daughter professionally edits videos, and my wife shoots them with me at work, she is a software engineer-ecologist by education, but she works with me and enjoys working and spending time together. The first thing that began to lead this instagram, then Facebook, tiktok and YouTube. It is necessary not to be shy, not afraid, and begin to conduct social networks immediately, starting any business. Experience and professionalism comes with time! The main thing that people see what you can do ! Many people, thanks to Instagram already waiting for me to come to them. My schedule is already planned for a few weeks!
