We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shandera McIntosh . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shandera below.
Shandera , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The mission of my company is to obviously create a clean and comfortable environment for my clients. But most importantly helping the people I hire bring in consistent income. We offer full and part time positions. Which enables us to hire anyone, for example we’re helping a single mother bring in income while her children are at school and also a nursing student who just needs extra cash while she’s focusing on her nursing program.

Shandera , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It all started back in 2016, I was working at a doctor’s office as a nurse and I wasn’t happy with where I was financially. I was trained to do most of the procedures as well as preform my duties as a receptionist and still wasn’t making enough money. So, to make extra money I would offer to clean the office. The doctor was so impressed with my cleaning she asked me to clean her home and from there it was just word of mouth. Before you know it, I was cleaning a few homes in Dr. Phillips and the Lake Nona area. From there I honestly just took off, I knew the power in hard work and dedication and in return GOD just kept blessing me with more and more clientele. I stopped working at the doctor’s office, took a leap of faith, and just decided to pursue my dream and opened my cleaning company Brooms & Babes. It was the greatest decision I could have ever make, because now I’m creating jobs for others and allowing them to have a more flexible schedule. We’re honestly a family and we’re creating meaningful relationships with the people in our community. To see the smiles on our clients faces, is a very rewarding feeling.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I would have to say being reliable, showing up and executing the services being provided successfully and consistently.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have learned that you’re not always going to get a yes. I’ve actually had a company not even respond to my proposal, but I just used that as fuel and keep pushing, stayed resilient and kept trusting GOD. What I have noticed is that with every no I got a greater Yes followed.
