We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jasmine Ware a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jasmine, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe that if you have faith, you can achieve anything you put your mind to. When you do not have the resources, you need or the knowledge, having faith and believing in yourself, will push you to obtain those things you currently do not have. In the Bible, it says that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). This scripture lets me know whatever I lack will show up if I have faith. I remember when I first became a full-time entrepreneur. I had an eight-year banking career and had just received my associate’s degree in paralegal and law studies. Shortly after finishing school, there was a shift in my mindset. I left my job with little knowledge and no resources to start a business. However, I had faith. Today, I am a three-year full-time serial entrepreneur running six successful businesses. It’s amazing how we allow comfort to cap off our Abilities. I was comfortable with having a 9-to-5 job because I knew it was something that was going to be a constant. However, my faith said, “That was not enough”. Most people think you need to have it all together when starting a business. Yes, some information you will need to know before starting a business however, some things you will learn as you go. Every day you will learn new things. In summary, my success was not because I did step one, step two, and step three. My success arrived because I believed in myself, without waiting for the approval of others. When you set your mind to it, you will get it done!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a single mother with two beautiful children. I have been a proud member of my church, “The Kingdom Church in Tyler TX” for 11 years. I do not have the space to talk about all of my businesses so I will focus on my two primary businesses. I am a hairstylist/hair loss practitioner. I own and operate a 501c 3 nonprofit, entitled Mrs. CEO Organization. The problem I solve with both of my businesses is overcoming the lack of confidence. As a hair loss practitioner hairstylist, I assist clients who have alopecia and also offer treatments for hair restoration. The Mrs. CEO Organization was created to help women entrepreneurs grow in their businesses. So, whether they need confidence with their look or confidence to run a business, I’m here to help! I have been a Hair braider since the age of nine. It has been a passion for many years. What I love most about being a stylist is, that I meet many people with different backgrounds and life stories. Every opportunity I get, I am encouraging others. I value my clients who trust me to sit in my chair. After I started my business as a hairstylist, I launched my first line of hair growth products (Jazzed Up Hair Growth), and later God gave me the vision for Mrs. CEO. When I saw that I was effectively running my own business, God gave me the passion to help others. Within 3 years we have gained 11 partners. Every year the Mrs. CEO Organization hosts an entrepreneurs’ conference where women can come to be informed on how to run their business. We also have many events throughout the year to empower women entrepreneurs. I believe that the passion behind my work speaks for my brand. I put my heart into everything I do!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn was to stop waiting for people to approve me. Growing up as a young child. I dealt with rejection in different areas of my life. Therefore, I always found myself in situations where I wanted to be accepted and approved by those around me. My mindset was, “If I made people happy and if I did what others wanted me to do, they would love me”, but I had to set boundaries and start living my life for me. I didn’t realize the self-stress I was bringing into my own life. You cannot please everyone. When I began to create my own story, that’s when God began to bless me. I was no longer living by the standards people had set for me, but I was able to live my life according to the purpose that God had for me.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Word of mouth!!! There is no better advertisement than those who have experienced your service. I value my customer reviews and I am constantly sharing my customer’s experiences. Most people don’t want to hear what you have to say they want to see it for themselves. When you have a clientele base that can back you, It adds value to your brand.
