We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anne Marie Ceralvo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anne Marie below.
Anne Marie, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Even though I have music industry experience, going as far back as 23 years ago, I didn’t realize that I wanted to really pursue a creative/artistic path until the pandemic. I reconnected with collaborators – from producers, to DJs, to rappers, to fellow singers. Creating music together brought a feeling of joy and a sense of fulfillment!
Anne Marie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Between 1998 and 2005, I was performing regularly with my singing group “One Vo1ce.” It wasn’t until 2020, in the thick of the pandemic, that we decided to pursue music again, especially after finding out that there were people out there who were still playing our music, which was quite humbling. We linked up with super producer Dominic Agatep, aka “Dom Brady,” and together we put out our 4th LP, titled “ISO” in July of 2021. Currently we are working on a 5th LP with another great producer, Aaron Llavore, aka “Aycee Ronin.” As a session singer, I provide vocals for clients from all walks of life, and I collaborate remotely with a variety of songwriters, producers, and lyricists. It is my personal, mission to produce music with creatives of the highest caliber — music that inspires others — music that brings meaning to people’s lives.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
What is most rewarding about being an artist is seeing a project come to fruition, especially one that is the brainchild of different collaborators. It’s interesting and satisfying, being able to see how other creatives think and contribute; in the process I’m always learning something new!
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. Simply, music has been in DNA since I was little. My relationship with music has been on and off my whole life, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that music must be a permanent part of my life. It brings me joy, and it’s exhilarating when I witness a palpable impact on the people that listen to the music I’ve created. If my music touches & moves even one person, I’ll view that as an accomplishment. At this point I’m thinking “Why NOT create music for the rest of my life?”
