We recently connected with Ashley Zamora and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My husband is our first artist, He goes by his artist’s name phat bottom greenery. We decided to open up our label, publishing, & music corp company together.
Phat Bottom Greenery’s musicians inspired him at 13 years of age by copying lyrics on paper to recite the words and make them his own. Shortly after this, he started experimenting with writing lyrics and songs from the heart and mind from the ages of 14-16. Then, at 18, he started to do venues all over and perform live. Then at 19, started to record at professional studios in Nashville and Chicago and slowly perfected his craft until he was 24. Then went to California to record and check out other cultures on the west coast. Where he learned more about productions and music as a whole. Had minor success performing and recording. He made two albums and formed a band for several live projects, all done by him writing, performing the whole production coming up with ideas until about 30. Then he returned for the next few years and won contests, open mics, and more studio time once he was 32 in 2015 after so many years of knowing his wife Ashley since 2006. We got together & then married in 2017. We have shown each other what love truly is and to live your life to the fullest & we built our businesses and the most current PBG MUSIC INC. We formed this company to build phat bottom greenery’s (Louis) music & inspire other people, and help humanity as a whole. He loves doing hip-hop/rap & country all genres. We are all about spiritual healing music is energy, and energy is spiritual. We love spending time with each other and our daughter and sons, our dogs & all family members. We love traveling back and forth to Arizona, Alabama, California, Nashville & Nevada for music & family and worldwide. He writes, produces & performs his songs. Nightly he is writing and coming up with songs, sometimes overnight together! He always continues until the song is done! His mind is always coming up with new ideas and being creative, and we bounce ideas off of each other every day! Phat Bottom Greenery loves going in and just finishing a song and laying down the track, and recording it! This is his art. It’s what we love to do!

You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth? Phat Bottom Greenery’s Answer
Yes, we have struggled to this day. While running a business. Every day is new, and you learn something all the time. Getting a band together and getting them to show up on time is a huge struggle! Getting everybody on the same rhythm is also tricky. (I like having a band for fun. It helps me stay sharp) I had to learn to work in the studio fast & at a professional pace time is money, and I didn’t have a lot! I would work overnight and then go in, record & mix after my shifts at work! That’s a huge struggle too! Thank goodness for my wife and her talents and business backgrounds!

We are just getting started with PBG MUSIC INC, and we are building it from the ground up. with my background as a writer, producer & performer. Ashley’s background is all business operations, from running many medical facilities & businesses for corporate, non-profit & homeless populations,& private. While also running a real estate business. She is also a Spiritual Advisor. We will work together to continue to build and offer opportunities to those who come before and after us. Our goals are to help humanity and produce and publish music which is what we are currently working on. We want to reach all populations and eventually bring them on board with our visions for the future and future generations to come!
What was your favorite childhood memory? Phat Bottom Greenery’s Answer
Playing the piano mimicking Jerry Lee Lewis in front of my second-grade teacher and class! You should have seen their faces entertaining them for minutes on end! Also, performing Santa’s got a brand new bag by James Brown, instead of singing the lyrics, I decided to rap them in the 5th-grade talent show!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Yes, we met each other on my space in 2006. Since then, we are best friends! We always lived in different states, so in 2015 we decided to start seeing each other going back and forth and then in 2016 Ashley moved up here lots of career offers and love! Now married in 2017 and have a business together! We helped each other evolve! We want to help others to do the same thing with the music and legacy we have started together!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Yes in life in general you will have bumps in the road you have to just learn how to keep working with them and around them.
