We recently connected with Laura & Glen Keith and have shared our conversation below.
Laura & Glen, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, what do you think about family businesses? Would you want your children or other family members to one day join your business?
What works well for our business is that we work well as a team to get everything done. Glen is very hands on with the business, training staff, working there, maintaining inventory, and ensuring our policies and procedures are being followed. Laura does the work on the back end such as social media marketing, taxes, scheduling, payroll ect. It is nice for us to be able to work together and help each other to make sure everything necessary is done. Our children right now are little, but they always talk about wanting to work with us when they grow up.

Laura & Glen, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We got into this business as we had a passion for coffee, and wine. Being former shift workers, and emergency workers, coffee has been a necessity for us. We wanted to start something of our own that we would love and be proud of, and that’s how we started Latte Vino. When we first opened up we made it a priority to source what we could locally, this includes our regular baked goods (The Kake Shoppe), our GF/Vegan baked goods (Hillbilly Farms Bakery), tea (TeBella), and our coffee (PJs and Joffery’s).
We provide beverages for everyone, our main focus is our lattes, but we have a variety of espresso based beverages, a large selection of wine, beer, loose leaf teas, smoothies and more! We make all of our food in house, while we can’t be as instant as chain coffee shops, you’ll be pleased to know everything with us is made fresh. For example we have our Egg and Ham Breakfast Sandwiches that are made on the griddle just behind the cash. As well we have Charcuterie boards made to order, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Boards and Bagels, Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps, Gourmet Grilled Cheeses such as Smoked Gouda and Bacon, Brie and Caramelized Onion, Old White Cheddar and Orange Cheddar and more.
For our clients, we always want them to be satisfied. Our staff are aware to always offer a new drink, remake their beverage, or provide a refund if things are not satisfactory. We appreciate everyone’s business, and that they’re choosing to spend their hard earned money at our establishment. It is important to us that they enjoy their products and receive great service. What sets us apart is that we are very present owners, you’ll see one of us or both of us in there every day. We truly care about our space, and want to ensure everyone that comes through is happy.
A bit about us on a personal level is Glen was a Paramedic for almost 12 years, that is how we met. Laura worked as a RN in the Emergency Department for 10 years as well as did two years on call for the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Program. Laura currently works as the Nurse Manager next door, in the same plaza as Latte Vino, at Ixchel Skin and Body Medical Spa. We also have two children 5 & 3 which are our entire lives. We have done quite a bit in our lives, but our children are 100% our biggest accomplishment. We love the Lutz area, and are proud to be members in this community, and able to raise our children in such an amazing place.
We have received a lot of support from our customers, everyone has been so kind. We appreciate all of your business, and to all of our regulars, we especially appreciate you coming multiple times a week, we notice, and it means the world to us.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
We met with Glen bringing Laura work constantly in the ER. It was at a “911” party for first responders that we hit it off in 2013 and have been together ever since! We’re happily married partners in life, and now we’re partners in business.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I think just being consistent, maintaining our quality, and always trying to engage with our customers. We appreciate their business, and try and convey that whenever they come in. I think being personal, and providing quality has helped us to grow our business. We also are very consistent with our social media.
