Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katrina Kopeck. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Katrina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission at Siren Branding is to help business owners and entrepreneurs find authentic alignment in work and life.
Siren Branding was created as a response to common complaints, including corporate culture clashes and the pressure to have “work-life balance.”
When I was in corporate world, the pressure for this elusive work-life balance was always placed on the employee. There was an expectation to work 8+ hours each day (not including lunch or breaks), to be visibly seated in the office during that time, to keep all personal issues separate from work, to get a mountain of work completed, and not take work home.
It was an impossible task.
For small business owners and entrepreneurs, it’s an even more impossible task.
So instead of blaming yourself for not being able to manage the time required to juggle home and work life, we aim for work-life alignment.
Where work-life balance is a matter of time management and compartmentalization, work-life alignment is a matter of authenticity, values, passion, and purpose.

Katrina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I love working with business owners and entrepreneurs who are curious and passionate about what they do.
My own route to creating my business was wonderfully circuitous:
After receiving my Broadcast Journalism degree from DePaul University, I quickly realized I didn’t want to work in news, but I loved production. To buy myself some time, I got my first yoga teaching certificate and fell in love with that too. I have thousands of hours of yoga and yoga therapy training, thousands of hours teaching, a post-bacc certificate in Clinical Psychology, hundreds of published voice over projects, and experience as a producer and director on hundreds of film sets.
I landed in corporate content world, where I was driven, passionate, and motivated…and quickly had the wind taken out of my sails. I realized I was out of place – a yoga therapist and creative, climbing a corporate ladder to nowhere.
I grew tired.
Tired of working for people who didn’t live the values they preached, tired of being the only woman in a room while men spoke over me and down to me, and tired of not being able to trust the people I worked with.
So I left. And I started Siren with a mission of living in alignment with my values and helping others do the same.
Now I get to work with other creative, passionate people as a brand and marketing strategist and voice over artist.
Through the path to finding an authentic, aligned working environment, I found that a few things are always true:
– Having aligned values and messaging will make every single one of your decisions easier
– Doing anything new is much faster and easier with a trusted guide
– Uncovering your authentic voice will make you more confident and magnetic to the people you want to work with – like developing your own (ethical) siren song
I offer two main services:
1. Brand Discovery: Authentic, aligned brand identity overhauls that captivate your audience and elevate your brand’s visibility and impact. Receive a magical Brand Book to support your business for years to come.
2. Brand Implementation: On monthly retainer, I’m essentially a member of your team, invested in your success and brand implementation. Since businesses can change so quickly, I’m here for all your marketing, design, and operations needs as they arise. Most commonly, I work on websites, social media, and digital courses.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Initially, one of my main value props for Siren was to get branding done as quickly and painlessly as possible. I pride myself in being able to turn someone’s vision into a reality and being able to ask the right questions to get to the root of a brand very quickly.
When I was doing market research to find what people did and didn’t want with their brand, one complaint that kept coming up was having to fill out long forms. Who has time for that?
So to meet the need for no long forms, I decided to do all my brand discovery in person, interview-style.
After a few months, I realized that what people actually wanted was authentic connection, not necessarily the absence of forms. So, I pivoted from the fastest branding to a little bit slower process where there’s more opportunity to be seen and heard along the way.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Referrals have been the best source of new clients, followed closely by social media and my website. Having a personal referral is a great way to build trust quickly and support other small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Because everything I do for Siren is based on authentic alignment, my social media and website look, feel, and sound just like me! This means when people find me on social or a web search and resonate with the content they see, there’s a higher likelihood that they’ll reach out.
